I just got accepted to Radford University, while I am not sure if I will attend the school or not I would like to know some information about the town. I've read that the Radford/Christiansburg/Blacksburg areas are very tight and it is a short drive to the three towns. I know there is a thread for Blacksburg that may be useful, but I would much rather live in either Radford or Christiansburg. Does anybody have any advice about apartments or just anything about the town in general that may help?

I can breathe a sigh of relief, I have been accepted to Radford. Phew!!! I don't mean to sound like a broken record, but once you get your first acceptance it is fully worth all the stress that you go through. Don't EVER give up, I am convinced that everyone on this forum will get in somewhere eventually with how wonderful and dedicated everyone seems to this field. I wish good luck to everyone that is still waiting to hear good news.

I don't know if you've already done this jmarti, but maybe you can look at applying to programs that have an emphasis on deaf children, cochlear implants, etc. since they may be more impressed with your double major of deaf studies. If I don't get accepted this year I may look at applying to more programs that have an emphasis on autism since that is my area of strength.

I really think it is now because SIUC didn't notify until a few weeks later last year so this would be pretty early for them. Also, you would think more than one person would post their results if they really did give out their decisions already. So I'm going to stay calm and view it as a mistake.

Kcald, thanks for letting me know. Since it stills says that it's complete and ready for review I know i shouldn't freak out too much since that means I am still in the running. I just wish I knew if I am still in the running for an acceptance or a wait list at this point. Also, after freaking out about Carbondale I noticed that the person posted that they received the news on March 1, which is when SIU-Edwardsville notified people. Hopefully they just put the wrong school down by accident because if she meant to type 3/11 I think more people from Carbondale would have posted their results yesterday. Jmarti, hang on, we will get through this together. Everyone on this forum is pulling for you and we will be here for you no matter what

Well I still haven't heard from Western and apparently somebody got an email saying they were accepted to SIU-Carbondale and I have yet to receive anything. This doesn't look like a good sign

I would not worry if AY still says your application is complete and ready for review. Their website says if it stills says that then you are still in the running. In looking at the results section it seems like Illinois State is giving admission decisions out in the same way and somebody just posted an acceptance that states they heard the admissions will take a few days since they have to enter in each person's decision individually. Another school I applied to did something similar in notifying that the decision on our application had been made and my portal took a few days to update. So I wouldn't think bad news just yet!

Don't feel bad jmarti we all understand how stressful/depressing this can be. I am confident with your dedication to the field and your hard work that you will get in somewhere. I wish everyone who is still waiting or on a wait list the best of luck, and congrats to others who have posted acceptances!

Just got my mail and there is nothing from Radford or any of the other schools I am waiting to hear from. Oh well, I am just going to have to learn to be patient. A big congrats to everyone that received acceptances today and good luck to those on wait lists!

Since it is late in the day and WCU still says my app is still ready for review I am taking it to mean that I won't get an official acceptance today and that I have probably been wait listed. If that is true then I am going on a perfect 4/4 on the wait list front!

Aww, I know being in limbo sucks but just try and look at it positively. It's better than getting a full rejection. You still have some great schools to hear from!

On a more positive note (maybe) my Radford portal finally changed to decision made today and I have whole bunch of new tabs added for student life, my files and I have information on registering for classes in the fall. I got excited about something similar for Central MO to only find out that I had been wait listed and not fully accepted, but I will take this as good news until I receive an official decision.

Well the fact that my portal still says that my application is complete and ready for review gets me a little paranoid that they may have not even looked at it. I am assuming that everyone's changed when the decisions became final. I have not received anything from them so it is possible that they may have mailed me something since I am sure it will take a few days to get all the way to Illinois. But I am still curious as to why my status hasn't changed.
