  1. I was accepted at Radford, but gave my spot away for another school. I don't want to get your hopes too high, but from my understanding Radford's wait list should be active as I think many of the first round acceptances declined their admission offers. Don't give up just yet!
  2. How many semester credits are the internships? Some programs give 3 credits for an internship while some rip you off and credit you 12 credits for the same internship. I had the same problem come up with me and the only difference I could really find in the curriculum was the number of credits for the internships.
  3. I did this for a school that I was initially accepted to. While I did not make a deposit, I already sent my official acceptance in the mail. A few days later, I got unexpectedly accepted off the wait list to a program that was a better fit for me. I sent the department chair of the first program an email explaining the situation and apologized for the fact that I now had to decline my offer and was sorry for any inconvenience that it would cause. Luckily she was very understanding and had no problem with it. I think if you just explain the situation, as long as you give them plenty of time to fill your spot with someone on the wait list, I think you should be okay. After reading these forums, I think this situation happens more than you would think so it is probably nothing new to them.
  4. Congrats on your decision jmarti! And to everyone that is still waiting I am REALLY hoping for good news for you all!
  5. I agree with applying to programs that are diverse and in a wide range of geographic areas. I don't know where in the country you live, but it seems like the east and west coasts are extremely competitive compared to other areas and I would avoid these areas as much as possible. In the midwest I would avoid Wisconsin and especially Illinois as it seems like those schools are overwhelmed with their own state applicants and don't have much room for out of state people. Missouri, Nebraska and some parts of Kentucky would be your best bet in that area. I don't know much about the Dakotas but I would imagine they wouldn't be as competitive either. The south and south east seem to be the best area overall. Radford University in Virginia seems to take a lot of out-of-field students and their out of state tuition is doable compared to other out of state tuition, North Carolina and Florida seem to be good states as well because I have seen a lot of out-of-field candidates get accepted to schools in those states as well. Good luck and I hope this helps! Also I would like to add that I almost did not apply to the two schools I got accepted to because they were 8+ hours away. If I would not have applied to these schools I more than likely would not have been admitted this year, so expanding your options geographically is a must if it is possible!
  6. Don't give up matrix, there is still hope! I will be thinking good thoughts for you.
  7. Congrats hopeful!!! I have to admit to checking your signature everyday hoping for good news too, so glad your patience has finally paid off.
  8. Thank you for your info. I checked out the city myself this weekend and it seems like a great place to live. I've already put my name up for an apartment somewhere close to the campus and it seems like a great part of Omaha. I have a car so I hopefully won't have to worry about public transportation. I'll let you know if I have any more questions!
  9. Don't give up just yet, you still have plenty of time to receive an acceptance somewhere, and if your signature is accurate you still have two schools to hear from, which may bring good news also! And congrats jmarti, so happy that your patience has finally paid off!
  10. Ignore my post about Radford, I unexpectedly got pulled off the wait list at University of Nebraska at Omaha before Radford's April 15th deadline, and like Omaha much better now that I have visited the area this weekend. So tomorrow I will officially give Omaha my acceptance.
  11. Sorry for being a little late on this but CONGRATS!!! I am so unbelievably happy for you and am so glad you finally got the good news you deserve USF is lucky to have you.
  12. That sounds wonderful! I really hope that you can have that opportunity.
  13. I kind of know how you feel. I am applying to three year leveling programs this year and I was rejected from SIU-C because they say they do not have a leveling program. Their website clearly states on the graduate program page that if you do not have a bachelors degree you can still enter the program and take a year of pre-reqs and finish the degree in three years. They say nothing about applying as an undergrad, taking the pre-reqs and then applying again for the graduate program. I know I shouldn't really complain because I have already been accepted to two programs, but I spent over a hundred dollars in the application fee, sending my gre scores and transcripts to them that could have gone to applying to another program that would have at least looked at my application. It's just frustrating when schools are not clear with their information.
  14. Good luck, I hope you get the good news you deserve, I will be thinking of you!
