I had that experience last year. Got really close to Vanier (I think 10 away from however many they award) and was rejected for SSHRC. I guess it's a reminder of how arbitrary the whole process is.
FYI Last year my university had the results well before they mail was delivered (can't remember exactly when, sometime early April) so I guess you *could* ask the dept that oversees sshrc apps at your school, if they're willing to disclose the results when they receive them
Hey! Which portal are folks referring to? .... At my school we submitted our application as a hard copy. I got the email notice in January that my school had forwarded my application to sshrc, but I can't figure out where to check online to see if my status has been updated. Help? (I applied for the doctoral cgs/fellowships, if that matters)
Hey there folks. Like many of you, I'm beginning to get anxious about sshrc as well. York told us that the we'll be notified directly if we're successful (or not!). On SSHRC's website it says they send the results by mail but I'm wondering if it's updated online somewhere first? snail mail is sooo lame. thanks!
