  1. I have not heard from Valdosta either! I called them the other week and asked when we should hear from them and the lady who I spoke with told me it would be about 6-8 weeks after March 1st (deadline for app). I said okay so about April 15 and she said that she hopes so. However, with VSU having rolling admissions I am not sure how on top of deadlines they would be for Fall. Idk. Has anyone noticed that the portal looks different when you go to check your app status? I can't seem to figure it out now.
  2. I received the best phone call today! I have been accepted off the wait list at UAMS AND offered a Graduate Assistant Position! Hallelujah! Please everyone keep your heads up! Good things come to those who wait. Just remember this week is not over yet...everyone still has some time left to get accepted off of the wait list. Good luck to everyone!
  3. Thank you SO much Sryahmay! I am hoping that is what I was not over analyzing things. It had just shocked me that I received a call from the Graduate Admissions Coordinator. I am crossing my fingers!
  4. I am on the wait list at my #1 choice and the other day I was contacted by the Graduate Admissions Coordinator. If the Graduate Coordinator calls you in regards to finding out about any other acceptances and makes sure you know you would paying out-of-state tuition if accepted, would this be considered a good sign? I am just freaking out! Do most schools call you to find out more information if you are on the wait list? Has anyone had this happen? Thanks everyone!
  5. Got a call from the Graduate Coordinator on Monday wanting more information from me. I am currently on the wait list (out-of-state). She wanted to know if I have been accepted anywhere, which I told her I have only been wait listed at one other school, and she wanted to verify that I am an out-of-state applicant and would be paying out-of-state tuition. She also remembered that we have met each other and spoke at a convention in November (which was VERY exciting for me to hear!!) She told me that if I am accepted off of the wait list she will call me between now and April 22. After the phone call I was in utter shock! I don't think schools will call everyone on their wait list, or would they?! Could this be anything promising?? Good sign or omen??
  6. The Graduate Admissions Coordinator for the one of the programs I am wait listed at called me on Monday. (Talk about a freak out phone call!) She wanted to see if I had been accepted to any other programs yet and she wanted to make sure that I was okay with paying out of state tuition. She also remembered meeting me at a convention we both went to in November. She told me that if a slot opens up for me that I would get a call between now and April 22. I am not sure how to take this phone call I received. I don't think schools will just call up the people on their wait list. I am so excited/nervous/anxious....you name it and that is how I feel right now! (along with everyone else) I am just praying that maybe that phone call will be promising!! Any thoughts on that?? Only 5 days until April 15!!
  7. Has anyone been accpeted to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock or ETSU and are planning on not accepting?? I am wait listed at both and I am just worried that my wait lists will be my only hope! Also, when is Valdosta State suppose to notify everyone??? I mean with an initial decision....April 15 is 9 days away......
  8. To la912- I see that you applpied to Valdosta. I have too! Have you heard anything when we are to hear from them? My app status justs says "Departmental Review Pending" it is driving me crazy !
  9. I thought maybe that was the case that they were referring to April 15 being in 11 days! Thank you for the luck! Is there any way to know how statistics stand for past wait list decisions from the schools you are wait listed at, or would you think they can't keep accurate stats on that due to not being able to predict will will accept/decline each year? What is so frustrating is that we could all wait well into the summer..... I am a planner, so this is making me go crazy! Good luck to everyone!
  10. I emailed the graduate admissions director to find out if there was any way to find out where I stood on the wait list. I received an immediate response back (this morning, after I sent the email last night) and the director told me that "We will notify you with your specific status as soon as we hear from other students by April 15th. You will hear from us very soon." Is it promising that I was told I would hear from them very soon? I am just trying to patiently wait for April 15, but that is not happening very well! April 15 needs to get here quick and with some good news
  11. Today I got put onto another wait list! I am starting to panic. I was excited that it was not a rejection because the last 2 schools I heard from were a rejection. I am down to needing to hear from 2 other schools with an initial answer and then 2 wait lists! Would anyone say that if you are one of the first few to hear you are wait listed that it would be a bad thing or a good thing? I posted on gradcafe that I was wait listed and there was only 1 other person that had a decision up for this school. When I first saw the decision on the application status I became nervous because I thought that if I heard that I was wait listed so fast, then I must not be high ranked. Maybe I over thought things, but then people were replying to the post and saying their status still said "Referred". Would you think hearing back first that you are wait listed is a good or bad thing? Is there a way to know?
  12. Ok- thank you for your help/advice anxiousphd! I did contact them immediately after I received my wait list letter in the mail. The only thing that is a downfall is that they do not do online applications, everything is still a hard copy. With that being said, maybe it is a good thing that I cannot log on to check my application status because I already do that about a billion times a day for my other schools I am waiting to hear from. I just hope I get in somewhere!! :/
  13. That is wonderful news!!! Congrats! I would be dying of anticipation as well, but it sounds very promising if you ask me. Keep us posted!!
  14. If we are on the wait list shouldn't we hear back from the school either way if we get declined off the wait list, or accepted? So far I have 2 rejections, 1 wait list, and waiting to receive an initial decision from 3 other schools. I think that it is insane that it is April 2 and I still have 3 schools that have not contacted me with any answers on acceptance, denial, or wait list. Also for the wait list, how long should I wait before I contact the department back? I emailed the person in charge for the graduate admissions for the program I applied to and she actually called me to explain the wait list to me. She said that she could not really tell me where I stood because they did not know who was going to be accepting/declining their offer and then the people from the wait list she didn't know if they would be accepted to another school while on the wait list, so then she didn't know how far down the wait list they would actually go in order to fill all of their slots. Does this sound any promising for me? I feel like I am slowly pulling my hair out because I am so anxious to hear from programs.
