I can't wait to start! My classes are: Organizational, Community and Societal Structures and Processes (3cr) Field instruction and field seminar (3 cr) Interpersonal practice with individuals, families and small groups (3cr) Intro to community organization, management, and policy/evaluation practice (3cr) Geographic information systems (GIS) for social workers (1cr) Grassroots community organizing environmental justice (1cr) As of right now, all of my reading is being posted online, or can be found in the library, so I wont have to buy any books unless I want them for future reference.

I'm starting the program this fall, and first of all I would say don't get too stressed out about it! I did, and in hindsight there was no need. Make sure your resume and personal statement are concise and clearly explain what you want out of the program and what you want to do with your MSW (even if you aren't 100% sure, make it seem like you are). Try to apply as early as possible, and give your references enough time to have their letters prepared. I think as long as you have a decent GPA and a great personal statement you will be fine as it seems like you have some good experience. If you have any questions feel free to pm me.

I "attended" the virtual open house, and they said that they were finalizing decisions and notices would follow soon after. I'm guessing sometime next week.

It is nice being towards the end of the process. What is your concentration if you don't mind me asking?

It took me about a month or so after being admitted to hear back about scholarships. I would try to contact the department and ask them directly.

Thanks! I was very close to applying to UW because of their dual MSU/MPH program (and I've always wanted to live in Seattle) but decided against paying out of state tuition.

I asked my recommenders to let me know if/when they call. The wait is killing me (not as bad as waiting for admission). I interviewed for the career services GSSA, and I really liked the woman who interviewed me. It would be awesome to get to work for her.

You are able to change your program length. Under the admitted students tab there are instructions on how to do it. I'm actually considering doing the opposite of you.

Has everyone interviewed? I was told that we would be hearing relatively soon about their decision!

Admissions selectivity really has nothing to do with how good a program is, which is (IMO) what should be more of a consideration than selectivity.
