haha yes, im way more calm after having gotten through that first app and knowing all is squared away. the rest of the apps should be fairly easy now! (hope that last recommender comes trhough Friday though)

ahh... ok, i was wondering if that was even possible. was afraid so. i hate to re-bother my recommenders! (youre speaking of VCU yes? yale didnt send me anything since applying. I see that it says submitted in the beginning of the app, so here's hoping it all went through ok...)

I personally think a safety school is a good idea if one sincerely needs a break from whatever theyre doing, be it career direction etc... sometimes that safety school can give you a nice financial package or another unexpected advantage.

i understood it as one minute after Dec 31 at 11:59, so I made sure to get it in during 2013. However it says elsewhere on the site: 3. References from three persons practicing or teaching in the field in which application is made, attesting to the applicant’s ability and competence in that field. NOTE: Because the admissions committee reviews applications shortly after the deadline, time limitations may preclude reading any supporting documents uploaded after the first week of January. Please impress this fact on the people who will be writing on your behalf. In my case I have one recommendation coming in Friday. I believe it should be ok, Friday is still technically the first week in January. It's probably not ideal but ok. good luck!

I cannot believe I got the Yale app in yesterday. I am applying to 10 schools. VCU's system is giving me a hard time with recommendation requests though, has anyone else experienced that? I feel so much better now that one app is in! the rest should be easy.... now to the fun waiting part!

has anyone included room shots with several paintings to show scale?

i sure would love to see a SOP of someone who got into one of the top 10s last year or the year before!

I also want to keep working! I'm going to a portfolio review in boston this Sunday and after that point I hope to begin!
