I was wondering whether there are people on gradcafe, who participated in admit weekend at Stanford? If so, can I please ask to share your impressions? Particularly if there are people in ICE program! thanks!

Anyone on GradCafe attending the admit weekend?

I am deciding between Harvard and Stanford currently and looking at housing costs also. What is the range I can expect to find a nice room within an apartment with roommates close to Harvard? Nothing fancy, but nice and clean and comfortable. Please suggest! thanks!

Harvard GSE Admitted Students

I live half world away and received mine Monday morning through FedEx, it was sent on the 21st. There was no financial info, just admission package. -
I received 8K offer, and it does not matter, I am going either to Stanford or Harvard.

Just got my admissions decision, admitted to International Educational Development, but I am going either to Harvard or Stanford.

Waiting for International Educational Development decisions!

I have to chose between Stanford and Harvard and I learning towards Stanford for it is a bit of a longer program with more research related classes, it also has MA paper component, which I think can be very useful for focusing in one field and in the future if I think of PhD this can be very useful. Third, I love that at Stanford the cohort size is much smaller than at Harvard, which I hope will give the opportunity to really interact with professors. My thoughts. Financially it ends up being almost the same for me (I am international student). My only worry is that Harvard as a brand name is much more recognizable outside US than Stanford, but I hope the people who will consider hiring me in the future will know Stanford name. And the last thought, it is lovely sunny California versus cold Boston!

Which program did you apply for?
-
Last time I talked with admissions, they told me before March 15. So another couple of days.
-
I applied to Harvard and Stanford as well and they both accepted me. So 99 percent I am not going to Columbia Good luck!
-
No you are fine I though the same since my application also says Master of Education, then I emailed admissions and they told me that every applicant who does not hold masters degree already, will be considered for Master of Arts. So you are fine, no panic

Granted Conditional Admission which sucks, because I can't apply for the major scholarship I was hoping for So probably no Harvard.
-
Oh thanks for info. Waiting

I am losing hope that it will be today and going to bed. Maybe I wake up and the results are out

I really really hope the day is TODAY. Otherwise the whole weekend I am going to be insane.

I also think it will be Friday! Saturday morning for where I live.

Stanford GSE MA Admit Day - Who's going?
WordlTraveler replied to TinOhSu's topic in Education Forums
I am not going either, half world away. Never been to Stanford Campus before. I am in ICE as well (it seems half the cohort is here ) I currently work at a private school, part of big network of schools around the world. Have extensive travel experience around the world, mostly through school visits and non formal education activities, been to 30+ coutries all work connected. Upon graduation from International Education program, plan to establish my own non profit that will work with rural schools in my tiny home country. And I think I am much younger than the cohort average age ! -
Please please please, you have to share all the info/details, etc, etc with all of us who are admitted but can't attend the admit weekend.
-
It feels amazing having this acceptance, but now I am counting the days for Harvard decisions to come!!!!!

Thanks! Congrats to you as well. Stanford offered me much more than that, but I still can't go.
