@CocoCoco I was referring to the results section here on GradCafe. Just search the specific school name and Speech then look at the older posts. Very few people in the entire applicant pool actually post here so it's not a very scientific approach, but if you see 2 or 3 say they got in off the wait list that's a good sign All the schools I have heard back from said to tell them by April 15th. So, wait lists will start opening up quite a bit after that. People who accept to their #2 and then get off the wait list to their #1 will then decline and another spot opens up. It's a huge waiting game, but for sure accept somewhere by April 15th so you have a spot. I was told to not feel bad about accepting everywhere then turning them down later. @arthritiskid Thanks! I heard from an email, my portal is locked from incorrect passwords too many times. Whoops! I need to get that fixed. I would think that the schools would notify both programs at the same time but that isn't always the case. For instance, today the Iowa AuD program held interviews and an open house but the SLP acceptances were sent out already( a few weeks ago I think) so that is a wide gap in notifications.

Hey, I was also wait listed to UA but for the AuD program. I'm considering calling them to ask where I am on the wait-list to determine if it would be worth it to make the trip out there for one of their Spring visit days. I know some people have done this at other schools; so I don't think it will be a problem unless you are specifically told not to as in the case of Marquette. Look at the results sections from last year for your schools and a lot of people will post if they were accepted off the wait-list in the comments section. It does happen, don't give up hope!

Same for me, I wanted a dog but didn't have the lifestyle for one. Visit a few cats at the shelter; mine had labeled personalites for them so if you want one that is snuggly or feisty or mellow you can. For scratching they makes things called "soft paws" that my kitty tolerates well and he can't destroy any furniture.

Hooray!! That was you top choice wasn't it?

Hmmmm this makes me think that there WAS a problem with my application. I didn't get the invite, but that's fine I was accepted into a program I liked more. Still strange, I wonder what I did wrong.

Has anyone gotten notification of admissions decision via email or snail mail and it doesn't show up on the school's portal? Neither of the schools I have heard from show up when you check the website. They still say pending.

Application Anxiety Thread

I love Downton Abbey. Another good PBS show is Doc Martin. I wish those silly Brits didn't wait a year (or more) between filming. -
I have no idea, I don't think Missouri State does. The only thing I remember from them is that you don't fill out a supplemental unless you are accepted. So, if they tell you to fill out that then it should mean you are in. The results search shows that NOAC has sent invites to open houses, which I didn't get invited to . I assume this is some sort of informal interview.

No worries DeafAudi, you can get in a program without suffering through an interview!

Alright, I have seen this on other forums and I know that we can do a search but I figure we could do this as well for more instant notification here for those of us active in the forum. DO NOT ERASE THESE INSTRUCTIONS! 1) Click quote on the most recent acceptance list. 2) Delete the quote messages at both the top and the bottom. 3) Add the school's name to the title of the post. 4) Find the school of interest on the list. If it is missing, add it in alphabetical order. 5) Add the method of acceptance notification if it is not already there (Phone Call, E-mail, Snail Mail, etc) 6) In chronological order by the acceptance add your user name, interview date, in state (IS) or out of state (OOS) status, and, most importantly, the date of acceptance. 7) Click submit . University of Wisconsin - Steven's Point: email AuD2018 (OOS: 2/6)

You have to get there on your own, but I think you can do Skype as an alternative.

Thanks! It's an on campus interview.

Lesbian life in various places (recommendations? warnings?)

Iowa City area is LGBT friendly. -
Are you sure they don't do interviews? Some might not say it is required but if you look like you have potential, but they want to know more about you they could ask for an interview. I know a friend of mine when to WashU for a visit and had a formal interview while there. On their website they recommend you visit campus, so I think they assume if you want an interview you will schedule it yourself.
-
I don't think that Iowa states that they do interviews, I had been told that the interviews were optional but the letter says they are required.

I have a friend in your situation, she is a Junior and her reserves contract is nearing completion. What are the rules regarding deployment during your graduate program? If you can come back and still have your spot, and you want to keep doing the reserves, then I say go for it.
-
Well, keep hope if it's one you want to go to!

I got my first interview invite today! Does anyone else have interviews scheduled? University of Iowa: Notifications sent 1/27 for interviews 2/27-2/28

Wow, I am also a veteran. I'm using my 9/11 GI bill and will have one year of benefits for graduate school. So, I only applied to places I knew I would get instate tuition.

I did have one school say they never got my scores when I did send them. The ETS people are predictably awful, and said I had to pay another $25 to send the scores if I wanted to send them again. I had to spend 10 minutes arguing and demand a supervisor then spend another 5 minutes on hold before they agreed to resend them without charge. ETS is monopoly so they know they can be as shady as they want and you will give them your money because graduate programs require their exam.

No, I didn't apply to any of the Illinois schools. That's a really strange way of doing things. I prefer to come up with my own login and password, otherwise I will never remember them. Western Michigan chose mine for me and I think I have had the password reset 3x. I submitted the last of my application materials Sunday. Now, I just sit and wait. . .and wait. Not stressed at all.
-
Yeah, I paid to send them for 3 of 5. I hate that my current undergrad charges me to send them out.

So, I had a "sure thing" school that I was originally going to apply to and have already paid for the supplementals, and sent transcripts, and GRE scores to CSDCAS. Now, they want GRE scores to their graduate school as well. I haven't paid the $45 to CSDCAS yet for this school. So, do I cut my losses and not finish applying there or fork over another $25 for scores and $45 for app fees for a school, I am pretty sure I will get into but is only on my list for that reason? I really hate CSDCAS.
