As my husband would say: Princeton doesn't matter. (Completely kidding, its a great program and congrats again to all.)

I called--all decisions will be coming out today (rejections, waitlists, and (obviously) acceptances).

You can count me in for the buffet on the "assuming a rejection" boat for Princeton (which was not a surprise because it was a reach, though a bummer because a POI there had looked at my LinkedIn profile awhile back so I was hoping I was in the running). Other than that, waiting waiting waiting. Feels good to have started to hear, though.

Did you get an interview? My understanding was that they interviewed in 2012 but not last year. The website says they normally do not interview--so many it comes down to adcomm preference? Sorry, no more information than that!

I only get a signal in the minute or so my train is hanging out at metro center. Do I frantically refresh my email to get an update every time I stop there, trying to beat the time it takes for the doors to open and close? Yup.

Well, shoot. Looks like that rush of acceptances I was expecting in my inbox at COB today didn't work out.

No, though I believe someone said they got a similarly phrased bounce-back email from the Duke DGS on Friday.

To be honest, if I do get accepted anywhere...I'm not so worried about my productivity as much as finding a mic to drop in front of my boss and walking out. Edit: I have a perfectly lovely job.

This is the first week I really have a chance of any of my schools releasing any decision--and after all of my "come on schools, tell me something!!!" I am fully expecting to have damaged myself enough karma wise to get rejected everywhere. Ha! At least then I'll know.

I'll be interested in seeing if the recent, multi-million dollar grant to UPenn for political science and economics has any significant impact on the department. Though I admire a lot of the work on political communications/American citizenship that has been done in the department alongside the Annenberg School, so I may be biased.

It has been interesting watching this whole thing play out, I gotta tell you. Edited because I forgot how to speak English, apparently.

Haha, I thought of that! I think there are been some Saturday morning email blasts but I don't know about any sort of trends or anything. I have this image of a department coordinator all packed up, ready to go home, hitting send on her computer and then running out the door.
