  1. Got into Emory's Global Epi program!!!
  2. haha... I asked one of my friends who's at Mailman, and she said that they would most likely start sending out notifications sometimes in March.
  3. I just saw someone posted this over at the SDN website. I also applied to the MPH at Columbia, but for epi; I haven't heard anything from them yet though... :/
  4. Like what Livenlearn said, getting full funding is EXTREMELY difficult (e.g. Emory only gives full funding to only 1 person from all the entering students), and I'm not even sure if Harvard or Yale gives out full, or even half, funding. Also, if you decide to go to Harvard, 60-80K for 2 years for tuition fees and living expenses wouldn't be enough.
  5. Congrats!! I wish Yale's EMD would start sending out decision already!! And living in Boston isn't necessarily cheap lol.
  6. Just got the acceptance package from BU today (was accepted last week) with a merit scholarship.
  7. congrats! And no, it just said that I've been academically accepted.
  8. Someone from SDN already got into Yale for CDE. Urgh... I absolutely hate the waiting game!!!!!!
  9. I'm so jealous at those who have heard back already!! Really hope I'd hear back soon
  10. I think by visiting/talking to the schools you're applying to is a great way to learn whether or not they're research or clinical oriented. For instance, Yale is heavily focused on research, even the staff at the Open House said so. In addition to talking to them, reading their websites and looking through student profiles can give you some insight!
  11. me too!! They're my top choices!
  12. I applied to Emory and GW, and received confirmation from both. GW sent me the confirmation email the day my application was mailed out (10/30) and Emory.... well, it took them about a month and a half.
  13. I believe most schools are on the rolling basis, and some students have already been accepted to several schools. Most schools, according to their website, require at least a 3.0 GPA, though some students get in with a slightly lower GPA. I think it really depends on a whole package of an applicant, rather than just numbers. I think if you want accurate and informative advice, I highly suggest you contact the schools that you're applying to directly and ask them if you are competitive enough for their program. We can only give you our opinions, but they're not going to be as accurate as those you'll receive from admission office. Best of luck!!
  14. 1) Research Interests 2) Type of school (i.e. clinical vs research) 3) School's environment and accessibility to resources - it doesn't help if there are a lot of research topics that you're interested but you don't have access to them!
  15. hahahaha... well, you got in!!! And that's all it matters Congrats!
  16. Ahh I see... I applied to BU on oct 30th. what program did you guys apply to?
  17. This is what I got from Yale: Once we have begun the initial evaluation of your application, you will be notified whether it is complete or incomplete - we have not begun that process as of today. The first decisions will most likely go out end of Dec. – early Jan. - Admissions Office
  18. Anyone heard anything from Emory MPH?
  19. I think it helps but definitely not necessary.
  20. I heard from BU the same day my apps were mailed out (10/30) and GW sent me a confirmation email the next day (10/31).
