  1. no clue about the DrPH program, sorry. But they have their own committee that is separate from the PhD program.
  2. They interview everyone they accept...
  3. I'm not sure, but I don't think so? Columbia is usually quite late in interviewing their applicants. Mine was done in mid or late Feb and I was notified around mid March.
  4. Interview is required as part of the admission process at Columbia for PhD Epi.
  5. I don't think it adds anything to the competitiveness of your application... If anything, I would use the time to do more research and get published. The more publications, the better.
  6. Ask the interviewers about their research... all profs love talking about their work. Pay attention to what they're saying and ask them detail-oriented questions about their work.
  7. Honestly, there's no way around it. When i was waiting for my decision, there was literally nothing that could help me until I got my decisions lol. But i kinda was just thinking about the worst possible outcome (not getting into any program) as a way of coping, so I know there would be options and next steps for me. Not sure how healthy that was though lol....
  8. Hey... I'm also an international student and currently in a PhD program in ID epi. You're correct that it is A LOT harder for international applicants to be accepted due to limited funding. There are only 3 international students in my cohort, and they're all extremely competitive. Feel free to inbox me if you want more details. Also, you should definitely take the GRE and show that you are a competitive candidate (get at least a 90th percentile) even if the program makes it optional.
  9. Columbia, Harvard, Brown, Hopkins, and BU give full-funding for Epi PhD, and I think Yale and Emory do as well.
  10. Yes, I committed to Columbia! My research interests align best with the faculty there actually.
  11. UofT is a great school, and Toronto is just simply beautiful! Best of luck!!!
  12. hey.. i know you got into Columbia, but which school did you commit to, if you don't mind me asking? Thanks!
  13. Any news on the funding from Columbia?? And for those who attended the admitted student day, could you please share your thoughts on their program and how it went??
  14. Columbia just sent out their decision...
  15. Has anyone heard back from Columbia Epi after the interview??
  16. Has anyone heard back from Harvard's PHS in global health and population? or Brown's Epi? or Hopkins' epi?
  17. Still deciding between Emory Global Epi MSPH and Columbia Epi MPH with ID conc., but heavily leaning towards Columbia because of its location, resources and connections.
