  1. I will be happy to inbox you when I get back....around the end of March. Glad to help!
  2. Hi, Congrats! I am off to VT too in the fall, but for a different program. I am going down there the 3rd weekend of March. I can get back to you about living expenses once I check it out.
  3. Hello Fellow Applicants, Has anyone applied to the Winterthur program in American Material Culture? I have been checking the boards, but I don't see anything shaking out from there. If you have applied please post! Thanks!
  4. I didn't do a visit....just contacted a couple of POIs there last Fall. I don't have any idea how many they are admitting. Longshot for me, but it is a perfect fit. BTW - My handle is Samsales. Decaf refers to the level of my posting activity on Grad Cafe, lol! Oh, and Congratulations to whoever it was that got in UNC!
  5. Anyone care to claim the UNC Chapel Hill admission?
  6. I was wondering the same thing about UNC Chapel Hill! The wait is unnerving!!
  7. Wow, Levoyous, you are certainly crafty!
  8. Thanks for the welcome, Glamdoll. From your lips to the adcom's ears!! At this point I would almost welcome(sorta)a rejection, lol!
  9. Knowing, or assuming, that not much will be coming out in the way of notifications on the weekend is enough to drive me mad. So close, yet so far..... Come on Monday!! Thanks -- just had to vent. My family is getting sick of hearing about this. I do know that misery loves company, lol, so here I am!
  10. Made ya look! Sorry....just trying to break the tension. I have chewed my nails to nothing....Ugh!
  11. Hi All! I decided to un-lurk and introduce myself. I am a 48 year old Senior in my final semester, and am majoring in American History and minoring in Museum Studies. I have been an antiques dealer, estate liquidator, personal property appraiser and an auctioneer for the past 20+ years. I love my work, but being self employed for the last 20 years has been stressful, and I would also love the opportunity to delve into the scholarly aspects of my field. I am nervously waiting to hear from five programs that I have applied to. I have no idea where I may land, how I will swing it, or if I will get the job of my dreams; but, I am having a blast living out a true fantasy that I never thought I would be able to do! Good luck to all of us "Old Timers"!!
  12. Whoops...didn't read far enough ahead! Tool kit
