  1. I applied to Community Mental Health
  2. @friedgreentom - I am wondering where you heard that admission decisions may be out next week....
  3. Ok. Now that I'm two weeks from acceptance/rejection, I'm starting to freak out!

  4. WOwWOWOW! How can someone go through life - and get to the point of deciding to attend graduate school - without ever learning that plagarizing is WRONG. I would be so upset if someone did that to me. I am speachless - good thing I'm typing Also - you're handling this really well. I wouldn't have been so kind - I would have told her just how wrong that is. She's got a long way to go in life.
  5. I'm just excited about the admissions process.. no need to share your information if you don't want to participate
  6. Please complete the google spreadsheet I created for UC BERKELEY MSW statistics! Then we can get an idea of what our cohort looks like! (Link below)
  7. When did Berkeley want you guys to interview? I applied for the Community Mental Health program..hoping they will want to send acceptance letters around march 10th but if they are interviewing you guys now then I'm thinking we won't be notified until later?
  8. What kind of scholarship is it?
  9. This wait is seriously killing me.. when do you think we will hear from Berkeley? I'm thinking before March 15th...
  10. elbimbo - I have reviewed the list of scholarships that are listed on the USC website - it looks like a long list but these scholarships are highly specific and only a very small percent of students will be eligible - I wouldn't want to depend on that list to finance my grad school degree, that's for dang sure!
  11. Because USC is a private school, there are significantly less scholarship opportunities - I wouldn't expect more offerings...
  12. Hey HopefulMSW- You're welcome! You're going to be so much happier/feel justified/and comfortable during grad school with a scholarship. Congrats on your admission! I don't have any info for Simmons as I didn't apply there.
  13. HopefulMSW - USC is a very expensive program and - because they are a private school - they do not offer as many scholarship opportunities as most other schools do. Unless you've got a lot of dough (a.k.a. money) I would give BU a try.. have you heard from Simmons yet? I hear that's a good program too. ALSO there are some professionals who talk about private grad schools like USC that accept so many students that the individual experience may be compromised. I hope this helps, good luck with your decision!
  14. Please enter your stats on the Google doc that I created for UCLA, thanks!
  15. @Elizabeth Li - The spreadsheet that I made for UCB and UCLA are modeled after a spreadsheet that I found for UCB, not UCLA - I'll be happy to send you the link if you'd like!
  16. I completely agree with you on the stats thing - I just created this spreadsheet because I was fascinated by a similar one that was created in 2012. It's exciting to get a glimpse of the people you may be working with and their unique experience/edge. Thanks for entering your data
  17. I've created Google Documents for UC Berkeley and UCLA MSW 2014 Admittance Stats (Links Provided Below)! Please fill them out even if you were rejected so we can compare stats! Good luck to everyone!
  18. So ready for decisions to be made!

  19. Looks like people are already getting admitted to the MSW program for UCLA? Wowzers, that's exciting! Please complete your stats into this Google document I created for the UC LOS ANGELES MSW Fall 2014 applicants! https://docs.google....Y3c&usp=sharing

  21. I contacted a few for one school (top choice) but not my second choice school (only applied to two schools).. I hope it helped me.. I guess I will see...
  22. I am applying for a Masters of Social Welfare at UC Berkeley and UCLA. I contacted a professor at UCB - and even sat-in on one of her classes - before applying for the program. At UCLA, I didn't contact any professors. Do Social Welfare graduate programs expect applicants to contact professors before applying? Do most graduate programs? Did you contact a professor before applying for your Masters? If so, what level of contact did you have? How important do you think it is to contact a professor before applying? Good luck to everyone who is waiting - I think I've got at least a month of waiting still .... :/
