  1. To respond to the first point, that's why there are two measures of efficiency, total placement and current. I presume the latter has to do with recent placements. This is why he says that FSU has a much better current efficiency than most programs and is higher on his ranking than US news' ranking.
  2. Thanks. I'll say something like that. I guess it's a pretty normal situation to be in.
  3. Hi everyone, I need some help. I was accepted in a good program last month. It was the first program I was accepted to. I spoke to the secretary and a professor who got in touch with me. He, however, didn't reply to my last email (a month back). I am sure he didn't do this on purpose. But as I was accepted to other programs (with a better fit) and started corresponding with other people, I didn't recontact him. I was going to decline the offer next week but he just responded today expressing his apologies and asking me if I was still planning on enrolling. How should I tell him that I've decid
  4. I just got an unfunded offer from FSU. I am on the waitlist for funding. I will be declining this offer.
  5. If you can get your research published at a peer review journal it could only help. Also, cupofnimbus, you could try asking some professors if they need assistants on their projects. That could also give you some extra research experience and perhaps a co-authored publication.
  6. Well I found an internship at a think tank, and while I did not include it on my SOP because I had other more relevant research experiences, I AM getting a paper ready, and hopefully submitted to Energy Policy. So try looking for positions at think tanks perhaps?
  7. You have quite a choice to make. Congratulations!

  10. A little late, but I got accepted to NYU's MA as well (without funding). Just Harvard PEG left (anticipating rejection, but you never know!) I think my cycle's pretty much over. I shall hopefully never have application related nightmares again ^^
  11. You can also search by committee member btw. You need to type "commitee=Last name, First name" (capital first letters) after "http://pqdtopen.proquest.com/results.html?"
  12. I just spoke to Steven Wilkinson who told me that since he wasn't on the admission's committee he has not seen the final list. Since he's the subfield coordinator maybe CP applicants still stand a chance?
  13. Thanks puddle! Do you know when the grad school notifies officially?
  14. Anyone know what time Yale should be sending out emails/notifications today?
