PI called today to invite me to Maryland on Feb 20-21 Anyone heard anything about UCLA? I saw some posts on the results board for social psych, but it looks like their interview weekend is this weekend, whereas developmental is Feb 7-8 (http://www.psych.ucla.edu/graduate/prospective-students/application-instructions).

Cognitive psychology. I had a phone interview with the PI, and he invited me to the interview weekend. Then the department head sent me an official invite.

All of my California interviews are the same week, so I'm just going to fly out and do them back to back (assuming I get an invite to UCLA). Here's what I know so far: Jan 30-31: Delaware Feb 3: UC Davis Feb 6-7: UC San Diego Feb 7-8: UCLA I received my official invites to UC Davis and Delaware today. The PI at Delaware is definitely trying to recruit me (and he's a really big deal), which makes me both anxious and excited. I feel like at the end of the day I'll have some difficult choices to make.

I'm not sure if the developmental area at Maryland has sent out invites yet. I talked to the PI on Sunday, and they said the committee wasn't meeting until later this week (so they could be meeting today). I sure hope all the invites haven't gone out!

I got my interview invite for UC San Diego yesterday. Keep your hopes up! It's not the 15th yet!

I've seen maybe two posts on the psychology results board for Maryland interviews and one for UCLA, so it's difficult not to wonder if the invites already went out. The PI for Maryland called me out of the blue on Sunday and said the committee was meeting later this week (meaning today or tomorrow), and she kind-of-maybe sounded like she was inviting me out to interview? Virginia and Washington are my top choices, and so far nothing on the results board. So I'm not discouraged yet!

UC San Diego just sent out invites today.

Just finished a phone interview with the PI at UC Davis. She seemed a little concerned about my "fit," but then said she was 99% sure she could invite me to the interview day on February 3. So I guess that's one invite down, seven to go?

I work in a Dev Psych lab at Duke now! The program here is pretty small though, that's why I'm applying elsewhere for graduate school. All my applications are in though! And now we wait...

I usually don't procrastinate, but I've found myself avoiding my two December 1 deadlines (UCLA and Maryland) like the plague. Yesterday, I FINALLY finalized the list of schools I'm applying to and sent my transcripts/GRE scores. I graduated in May and took the GRE in August, so I could have sent these a while ago. My advisor assures me that even if they aren't in until after the deadline, the schools will still consider my application. One of my letter writers was not happy that I only gave her a finalized list of my schools yesterday, even though she wrote a letter for my NSF GRFP application. Still haven't finalized my personal statement though, but I have my essay from my NSF that I'm just going to shorten. Fingers crossed!
