  1. Hi PC22! thanks for reply. And congratulations! Hope you will get official offer letter soon. I have also applied to Population Health Science stream, yet to get decision on my application.
  2. Those who have heard from SFU, which streams have you applied to? Anyone with Population Health Science Concentration?
  3. Hi Kaitri! I applied to MPH family and community medicine-UoT. and got letter from Ann Fox, Graduate coordinator. However, It was a usual rejection letter. And yes I posted the 'Rejected' result.
  4. Finally got the rejection letter from University of Toronto. Decision was taken on 10th March and application status on website was changed to 'Decision Made' on 11th March. However, after inquiring few times finally got the e-mail which is as usual. All the hope on SFU.
  5. Hi fellows, anyone being accepted into the UoT program, I was wondering what status it shows of your application on the university site. is it accepted, recommended or just Decision Made? My application status turned to 'Decision Made' two days ago but still have not got any clarification from the department. I have inquired through mail and they replied that they cannot relay the information and I will get notification e-mail by next week. This waiting is killing me. It will be great if you share information on your application status on university website. Thanks
  6. Cannot Believe This! Just received reply from the department stating that I will receive official mail about application decision within the next week or so. They cannot relay information via e-mail. this is going to be a long week.
  7. Hi, 2014app! I have applied to MPH: Family and Community Medicine. Just mailed them to know the decision, still waiting for reply.
  8. 'Decision Made' !!! That's all showing in application status of University of Toronto. I have not received mail or call. Fingers crossed and heart pumping like a diesel engine!!! every minute is killing me!!!
  9. Congratulations Runner!!! Best of luck with that!
  10. Same I can say about SFU. The deadline to upload all the documents was 15th Feb. Then they will take some time to prepare the applications for review. after reviewing they might short-list students; only and only after that they will make decision and start sending out letters(acceptance/rejection) and this procedure take some time. You have done the application, whatever you could do is over. So, like I said earlier, be relaxed and hope for the best! People have been great here on the forum. I'm enjoying follow up everyday. and I have inquired at SFU about application decision, they answered me that you should get answer on your application from your department by end of March. and people are posting updates, if there is any, so stay tuned!
  11. Have some patience dear and hope for the best!!!!
  12. Well, I am not expecting to hear anything so soon considering that UoT is slow to send out offer letters and It has been just 15 days to deadline to submit documents at SFU. But after 15th March, I'll be refreshing my email 50 times a Day!!!! Right now I'm busy with work, no time to think about the decision. However, It's nice to take a follow up here at the end of a day.
  13. Great Inputs Guys!!! I have applied in SFU: Population Health Science and UoT: family and community medicine concentrations. I find both the programs well suitable to my needs as I am a health care professional. I have gone through the topics of last two years' MPH applicants and I have noticed that people speak good for SFU( if not as high as for UoT). it is also accredited by CEPH, although as pointed out earlier in this topic, it does not matter much. I don't know much about how well developed network SFU does have, but I'm pretty sure that it will provide me good opportunities as the program has been there for longer period of time. It would be great if someone can comment on that. On the other hand, UoT is one of the most reputed universities in the world and the concentration I have chosen the concentration that matches best with my previous studies and work experience. Opportunities will be greater at UoT than SFU. However, I feel that the family and community medicine concentration has been started recently at UoT as I have never seen anyone talking about it. As far as this point, both universities are at same level for me. It would be helpful if someone can throw more light on importance and stress given to practicum at both universities. I found SFU one step ahead in this area.(please correct me if I'm wrong.) Other deciding factors for me are the weather and fees. I found weather of Burnaby(BC) more suitable than Toronto's. Also the fees are very high at UoT ( considering that I'm an international student). At the moment I'm more inclined towards SFU. I hope to hear some good news from them. :-)
