  1. I'm not quite certain if I am still on "time-out." I contacted NYU's department and promptly was told that we should "expect to hear from [them] by next week," and thought I would share. Unfortunately, the notification will not occur as early as some forum members were postulating. **Edit: Okay, I see now that aecp never meant to put me on "time-out" and feel a bit relieved.**
  2. I stopped checking this forum when it reached a bit of a lull, the other day. So naturally, I have somehow missed two pages worth of discussion and a slew of UC Davis admission notices. Congratulations to all of those admitted! IR IR IR PhD, I believe someone posted a shared Excel file containing that sort of information, but I don't remember who or when. Will search the depths of the forum.
  3. If you are certain that you intend to work in government in lieu of academia, perhaps consider the Pardee RAND Graduate School. They have a significant body of researchers that specialize in Energy Policy and Energy Security topics. Additionally, perhaps Carnegie Mellon University's Ph.D. in Engineering and Public Policy may be a fine fit, depending on your educational background. Lastly, I would recommend the Chicago Harris School of Public Policy Ph.D. program, as they house the Energy Policy Institute at Chicago.
  4. Thank you AmericanQuant for sharing this information. Without detailing which program you selected, may you describe how comfortable your living style is given the financial offer you chose? I'm specifically interested in how you handle common expenditure categories (e.g. rent, utilities, groceries, credit/debt), and should there be enough funding left over, how capable you are of making non-essential purchases (e.g. lifestyle, clothing, restaurants etc.). The numbers provide a solid baseline, but anecdotal descriptions may also clarify just what this funding will be like.
