  1. I wouldn't count on it... None of the grad students I talked to could remember exactly when they were accepted. However, most vaguely remembered it taking around two weeks (after the second weekend of interviews) or even until March to get a decision. Guess we'll just have to be patient or hope they've changed things up this year.
  2. Well, if I'm not mistaken, WashU's second interview weekend just ended, and they said to expect a decision a week or two after it. So I guess I'm expecting to hear from them this week or the next. The two interview weekends I am aware of for CMU-Pitt are this Thursday through Saturday, which I will be attending, and Sunday, 3/2 through Tuesday, 3/4. I haven't visited yet, so I haven't had a chance to ask when to expect a decision, but I suspect it will likely be one to two weeks after either the first or second interview dates, depending on how they do things. Although, in my interview invitation, they said, "Indeed, the overwhelming majority of interviewees receive offers of admission, based on experience in past years," so maybe the decision will come more quickly. Sorry to hear that you didn't get in, but thank you! Along with UCSF, it's one of the two programs I'm most seriously considering. Edit: I should mention that I applied to the Computational and Molecular Biophysics program at WashU, and it seems like you probably applied to the Computational and Systems Biology program. I was told that, though we all applied to DBBS, each program makes its admission decisions independently, so the information I shared may not be relevant to you.
  3. Actually, I forgot that they're interviewing a bunch of people who couldn't make the official date next week, so it may or may not take them a bit longer to make their decisions. JSYK.
  4. I haven't. The grad student I talked to said it would take a week or two after the visit for them to sent out decisions.
  5. Looks like rain in Philadelphia and "ice pellets" in Newark, which are my connection and destination, respectively. Happily, this weather is expected on Wednesday, and I won't be flying out until Thursday. Glad you made it there eventually! I'm sure everyone is nice about inclement weather as there is nothing we, as candidates, can do about it, but I'd still like to avoid spending any more time than necessary in airports if at all possible.
  6. Have you made it out yet? I'm going to Princeton on Thursday. I just barely made it out to St. Louis last week, and I don't want a repeat this week.
