The interview is not that long. But my only piece of advice is to be confident and relaxed. The questions are not difficult, but you want to express yourself in the best way possible. You CAN do it! Please let me know how it goes. We could potentially be in the same program! When is the interview?
-
Good luck with them!

Welcome to the thread!

Congrats on the interview! Is it on-campus or phone?

If you look at the results section and put "audiology" you can see that programs are starting to give out responses... makes me more nervous as time goes by!!
-
Yeah I agree that audiology is more straightforward and logical. I think it is really cool that you want to work with the VA population, it seems to be a growing interest. Well, I hope you get into your dream schools! My undergrad is the same as yours but it is called Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD). If you got into both programs how would you choose then? If money didn't matter.

Thanks for the insight! I am trying to occupy myself with work, but this website is on my mind a lot haha. Also, what made you decide to apply for both AuD and SLP?
-
Wow now I really wish I applied there. If for some reason I decide to wait another year, I will definitely look into the program. Do you know if the program is heavily based on research? Or do the faculty provide a good balance between clinical and research audiology? Also, I'm going crazy with the "waiting game." I don't think I can go another month or so to hear back from schools.
-
Completely agree with you! Also, I'm jealous that you're from San Diego. I've heard so many great things about the area. I almost applied to SDSU/UCSD! If you don't mind me asking, how many schools did you apply to?
-
I wish it was as simple as that! haha

Going into it, I was more confident because I have done numerous in-person interviews as an undergrad. However, this phone interview was my first. As soon as it began, I got nervous because I was told I had one minute to answer each question. The questions ranged from personal (getting to know me as a person) to audiology interest. Interviews should not be intimidating as long as you know how to explain yourself and really genuinely want to pursue audiology. The answers will be automatic.

I had a phone interview and the rest of the list consists of on campus/phone.
-
Yeah, it's totally up to you. Also, it is an accelerated program (3 years instead of 4). So do you see yourself in a 4 year program or a faster paced one?

Flying out for an interview.
earresponsible replied to earresponsible's topic in Interviews and Visits
Yeah, good point. Well, good luck with your interview! -
I'm sure you will do great! Do you know if your interviews would be on campus or phone?
-
I believe it ranges from personal questions about you & also why you are interested in audiology and pursuing the profession.
-
From what I have heard, it seems to be that if you are qualified they want to interview you. It shouldn't go by number of applicants.

Verification Angst on CSDCAS
earresponsible replied to burnsl's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
I was in the same boat. They explained it to me though. Because we both were "AU Submitted" doesn't mean our applications weren't sent. We were "Verified" before "AU Submitted" meaning our applications were mailed out to the schools. My transcript was received by CSDCAS on 12/27 (day after you) and my CSDCAS status now says "AU Verified" so yours should, too. Now that we are "AU Verified" our schools have received a notification saying that our GPAs were updated. Plain and simple! So you were done well before the deadline of the 15th because you already had a transcript in beforehand. -
This topic may have already been posted but I could not find it. How common is it for applicants to travel (fly mainly) for interviews in which the university does not pay for expenses? What is your perception of this? For me, I believe that it is worth the trip if you are really interested in the program. It would be nice if the university paid for traveling though.

How Are You Coping With The Torture Of Waiting???

Letting my addiction to thegradcafe grow stronger every day... -
Also, Salus University in PA does rolling admissions so applicants could know as early as October.
-
They offered two dates in March. So it is depends on when other schools release information. I'm assuming it will be a mixture of before and after.
-
Is your Pacific application complete? I am wondering because I submitted mine and they contacted me already. Just thought you might want to know so you can submit yours sooner.

Hi! Yes, I applied "early admission" to Texas Tech. The deadline was Nov 1.

Gifts for LOR writers - the best of the best
earresponsible replied to Vader Was Framed's topic in Letters of Recommendation
@belle00, I think I am giving my gifts when I get back to school next week. All my apps have been submitted. I know some people give gifts after they hear back from schools but I think the whole point is to thank them regardless of the admission results.
