I say (I HOPE) columbia today, yale tomorrow!

Like half of the poli sci world (drat!), my research interest is political violence so yale would be a fantastic option not just for personal reasons but for academic reasons as well. Fingers crossed for everyone! Feels like a couple of big ones will be coming in next week, which could really be completely devastating (lookin at you, yale columbia stanford!!)

Seems like we are in the same boat! Trying to choose between NYU and UCSD, because I'd like to be close to New Haven for personal reasons. Trying to put it off until Yale sends out admissions because that would just make my life so much easier.

Last year they made calls at 8pm EST, so I wouldn't be surprised if they notified tomorrow after the meeting (if the meeting is indeed the final one).

Now that princeton has sent out decisions, I'm extra antsy. Even though this does not follow reason, it sort of feels like all of my other high stakes schools are going to come out one after another, rejecting me all within the span of one week

I'm not sure when MIT will release. From what I remember last year, they sent the acceptances by postal mail (I think, but cannot be sure, that some people also got calls/emails from POI - maybe the international students?) and sent the rejections by email.

For me, above "verify address" there is something that says "status update."

I'd agree with this, better safe than sorry. No one's going to feel offended that you address them by professor. Profs have addressed pretty strongly at my undergrad institution. . Now that's just going to far...

Very cool. If there was one thing I could've changed about undergrad, I would go back and study abroad somewhere and learn a new language. Certainly would've reduced the heightened anxiety I felt every time I saw the "other languages" box in all these grad school apps... plus I'm coming to realize more and more that I have absolutely zero credibility as someone with a minor interest in African politics, since I know none of the African languages. Oh well! Things I'll patch up on in future schooling I guess.

Whoa. Always been jealous of you multilinguals. I know chinese but I was born into it so it doesn't even count. Did you live in these areas or did you study them? I knew people in college who made a concerted effort to study 8, 9, 10 or more languages and i'm always so amazed but I can't bring myself to do it
