I don't know anything about the Nexus 7, but I love my Ipad!! I really like the larger screen for myself, and I also always see SLP's using the reg. sized one. If they used the smaller one during bigger therapy sessions, the children at the end of the table would probably have a difficult time seeing.

I was just accepted off the waiting list. Is anyone attending?
-
It won't let me start a group because I have no friends to invite lol Also, I haven't used FB in two years so I don't think I should manage the group... if anyone is more facebook friendly feel free to start a group!
-
I tried joining the group and befriending one of the women who started it, but she replied saying she has accepted elsewhere. So I have a feeling she might not be running the group anymore. Maybe we should make a new one?

I feel so relieved!! I am so grateful, and I can't wait!!
Thank you!!! and congrats to everyone!!!!

Accepted into the program at Seton Hall!!!! I'm still in shock...

I just received my official acceptance letter in the mail. I will be declining the offer since I just got accepted into my top choice. I wish all of you the best of luck and hopefully this will open up a spot for one of you!
My heart sunk for a second when I read this post, but then I realized you were accepted a few weeks ago lol. Congratulations on getting into your top choice, that is really awesome! Thank you and thanks for sharing this information with us!!! Good luck in grad school!!!

Thank you so much! I panicked when I received the email lol I will definitely look into Ohio State summer courses.

Does anyone know where I can complete Hearing Science, Intro to comm disorders and a physical science before the fall?!
I know I can take Physical science online or at any community college, but if anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank youu!

Just received an email saying my application has been reviewed and they would like to know how I am going to complete the three prereqs. I didn't realize i'm missing three. Any advice? I'm so nervous. I'm going to check the summer schedule at Montclair and online Phoenix class.
ANY ADVICE IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

I'm still waiting to hear from 2 schools and 2 waitlists. Sheesh, I just want to know what I'm doing with my life!
I'm also waiting! I have one more school to hear from and 3 wait lists. I feel the same way, I just want to know what to do with my life! Limbo is not fun.
Hope something positive comes through for everyone still waiting.

Vent: I have to apply a third time! (sobbing) this is so disappointing.
Ok done, now moving forward...
Positive note: Another year to gain ever more experience within the field. Opportunity to save more money for grad school. Opportunity to strengthen my application that could possibly appeal to even more schools: dream schools. When it finally does happen, it will be the best day, knowing how hard I had to fight for it. Once I am in, you bet your a** I am not going to take the opportunity for granted. Once I am in, I have a feeling that It will be the place I was meant to be in all along.
Good luck to all of you and for all of you still waiting, no matter what happens don't lose your faith and believe that something better out there has also been waiting for you. XO My Slpeeps
I feel your pain. But I am so happy that your are being super positive about the situation. Not everything needs to happen in a year, or two or even three sometimes because some really great achievements take time. It WILL definitely happen, and you will be in an even better situation! I'm almost in the same situation and I'm starting to feel like giving up, but the fact that you are picking yourself up already shows so much strength.
Good luck and stay strong!

If I get in!!!! I know that's not the answer you wanted, but I'm dying over here.
Anyone else still hoping to get in? Maybe they will make some calls tmrw:)
-
Congratulations!! I hope they call me too..

My out-of-major GPA for my freshman and sophomore years in the Honors Program at Montclair State University was 3.65. I transferred to Stockton to major in speech pathology and currently have a GPA of 3.94. I took the GRE twice and my highest scores were 155 verbal, 153 quantitative, and 4.0 analytical writing. I had four strong letters of recommendation from speech/linguistics professors at Stockton, which I sent to various schools depending on deadlines and requirements. My resumé is packed with related experience and observation hours. I also have a very strong personal statement that tells my story and explains my best qualities but still answers all of the questions that admissions panels may want to know about me. I applied to twelve schools because I didn't expect to get in anywhere, and receiving so many offers was a bit shocking.
In the end, it's about how well you match up with the schools that you are applying to. I really did my research for each school and tailored my personal statements to prove that I knew specific details about the schools and faculties, their research and clinical focuses, and the opportunities that they have available. I think that including this information and relating it all to myself and my interests made me seem like a good fit at each school, which is why I received so many admission offers, interviews, and wait list seats. If you want to see specific details from my statements, resumé, and a recommendation to compare them to yours, send me a private message and I will be happy to share them with you!
Thank you for all of the info!!!!!!! If I don't get into a program within the next week or so I will definitely message you.

lol I wish I could say the same! I have a good feeling about Seton Hall, and I think we should know by next week!! ah.
Do you mind sharing your stats? It looks like you got into a lot of NJ programs that I've been wait listed at. Just looking for advice, in-case I have to reapply next year.
Thanks so much!

Anyone still anxiously waiting?
-
Out-of-field and many rejections, mainly NY programs. Three wait lists and one program left to hear from. I know if I had a 4.0 undergrad gpa this wouldn't be the case, whether or not i'm in or out-of-field. - so I believe.
Sucks. so. much.
-
Me tooooo. But the job market seems dismal, I guess because it's not slp. I'll need to suck it up, but I'm not ready yet. Lol ughhhh
Please send us acceptances!!!
-
One school left to hear from and three wait lists.
I still feel positive, but I should probably search for a back up plan :/ :;(
-
Rejection came yesterday. I can't believe they included a line in the letter stating, "although you were not selected for admission this year, we encourage you to reapply for the 2015-2016 academic year". They left out the fact that they already accepted their own undergrads for the next year! I find that so distasteful and not honest at all. Definitely hope people read this and they don't apply for next year. Waste of time and money.
-
I still haven't heard anything, and I live about 40 minutes from Clarion, hm...
Hmmm, that sounds like a good thing given rejections have been sent out! Thanks for sharing:)
I also applied to clarion as well and am waiting to hear back. It's very unfortunate that they don't tell you they give first priority to clarion students on the website before you apply. I would have applied somewhere else if I knew that.
Same here... They should definitely mention something about it. Marywood U. alluded to that very fact on their website, but I was interested because there was such a high acceptance rate. However, I soon found out why the acceptance rate was high.. It can be very misleading if you don't call and find out for sure.
Before I found out this fact about Clarion, I thought it was my safety lol. woops
-
It looks like Clarion only had room for their undergraduates, seeing that someone posted they granted them admission for 2014 and 2015.
Anyone who has been accepted and/or rejected, can you share if you were an undergrad at Clarion or not. and also if you reside in NJ or PA.
Not sure if anyone will read this, but thanks!!!
- I have a feeling my rejection is in-route
-
I just want to share something positive that I have just realized! Because it is taking seton hall a while to send out acceptances, applicants are probably choosing other programs to attend. And that's good for us!!
Staying positive!

I don't think I am going to buy a rolling tote just yet, but maybe after I accrue a lot of therapy material? I just hope I won't be frantically searching for one last minute.
Yesterday I bought notecards (and I want to buy a notecard holder), notebooks, dividers, a planner, a laminator and a paper cutter. Is it normal to have a separate binder for each course? If so, whats a suggested size?? - I'm trying to be organized, which is something I was not during my undergrad. lol
ALL opinions are greatly appreciated!!! Thank you
Also, I wanted to buy a clipboard.. I've read a few blogs where people mentioned a clipboard that has storage, but the one I found in Staples seemed flimsy. Any suggestions?
