The archive I want to go to is the archive of a Jewish man who died in the Holocaust because the US denied him a visa. I can't even right now.
-
Yeah, I wish I had devoted even more space to cross-cultural dialogue. Like, I want to go to Germany for more than my archive.

As @AnnMarie said, they top officials just walked out. The Fulbright is buried within the Dept. Of State, so that is interesting (I don't think affects us; I just find it interesting).
-
So the Dept. of State just walked out, essentially. This is getting interesting (read: horrifying).

I'm more concerned about the final approval, which happens in the US, but thanks for the support!!! On an unrelated note, any idea (anyone on this forum) about how taxation works?
-
It most certainly was locked in. That said, who knows what he'll do next.
-
I'm also a s-f to Germany for research. Congrats! I'm pretty sure my project will be rejected once it comes back (I used the phrase: analyze the violence underpinning radical right wing groups)...it was a nice a run while it lasted.

I am...I am very nervous. But I just bought tickets to see Coheed and I am just so excited to relive high school that I'm hoping I'll forgot about all my worries. (Also: Might I recommend Halo Top? It is low calorie ice cream that tastes delicious. I am a stress eater so I turned to this because I'm also trying to lose weight, but honestly, I'd eat it even if I wasn't).

I would still practice your polish, and maybe the email depends on what you put down as a proficiency level. The "etc." could mean that they might ask something in Polish or ask you to demonstrate your abilities.
-
Gah! Those were so much better than the questions I was asked.

Make sure you provide info not in the app. Like, expand upon your topic, expand about why what you're doing is important, about why you chose that program. Be able to justify why a tax payer should fund your study. And have a good idea of what you'd do to integrate into your community (I did the interview two years ago).
-
Just to clarify, not all U.K. Programs do an interview and not all applicants will be interviewed for those that do interview. In fact, some people don't get an interview but do get the grant.
-
I just had an amazing German lesson. I'm so pumped for going back to Germany (you know, if that happens).
-
My affiliate in the last round never mentioned getting contacted about this. I also haven't met anyone who has had their affiliate contacted, so idk.
-
I have never heard that before
-
It could be or it could be three (Top Choice, Alternate, and Not Selected).
-
I am REALLY hoping I'm able to "forget" about this until mid-March like I did until a week ago this round.
-
Just sent my transcripts! Wooooo
-
I've been told 50%, but it depends on the country. But it would make sense (for example, if there are 20 grants and they accept 1.5x the number of grants, then they would accept around 30. 20 grants is 66% of 30 applicants).
-
It depends on the school and even then, not all applicants are interviewed (which doesn't mean anything. I used to think it was because they had enough info so they only interviewed for people they wanted to talk with more, but that isn't the case). Also, I did do a telephone interview for a UK grant. If you want advice, let me know!
-
Just so you know, they don't always do interviews for everyone! I've heard people get it but no interview.
-
Oh sorry! I didn't see that. Congrats!
-
Anyone else here get recommended for Germany for Research or Study? Do we have an interview?
-
Also, just so you know, if they get lost in the mail, DO NOT PANIC. They will email you to tell you they don't have them and you can send them again. You will not be disqualified for this.
