  1. I just had the thought that my power could go out just as I get the email and then I have no way of opening it....
  2. It seems like they probably don't know themselves. If they are just waiting for the list of names to come back, they won't know when that is happening. That is my total guess though.
  3. They want Americans of all types and I'm sure you will bring an amazing wealth of knowledge and perspective to your grant time. Congrats again!
  4. Was it ETA or research? CONGRATS EITHER WAY!
  5. Wow...They really are announcing today. CONGRATS!
  6. Just make sure you check into deferment options. Then you might be able to get both!
  7. Is it considered inappropriate to email and/or call? I feel like they must know we are planning stuff, right?
  8. I doubt it.
  9. Check spam! AND CONGRATS!
  10. You are so strong...I wonder if Germany will. They are covered by a different person.
  11. I did! Silly autocorrect.
  12. I'm hoping a large announcement is next since it's been a bit since the last notification. Maybe Spain!?!?
  13. Why three days? Wouldn't it just come out on Thursday?
  14. Don't they come from New York? Or are all government organizations closing regardless of location?
  15. Did every finalist get two emails?
  16. Yeah not sure... I would doubt it
  17. Slovak Republic just reported, according to my FPA. I also applied to Germany and am hoping we hear today, but not right before my class. I think I could hold off opening the email, but idk...
  18. Who do we think will hear next?
  19. CONGRATS ALL!
  20. Good luck to everyone this week! I'm sending good vibes and reserving my upvotes for all of the results CAUSE YOU ARE ALL GOING TO WIN!
  21. I said more likely, not guaranteed, and of course it depends on the program. There's almost no field where tenure track isn't insanely hard to get, but I certainly know a Fulbright would have helped me get into a better program than the one I'm in now. Patrially because of the prestige, but more likely because of how the experience would have shaped me. As you said, it all depends on the field. If weighing the two options, one should see if deferment of the program is possible for the Fulbright or if a Fulbright would benefit them in reapplying if needed.
  22. You're more likely to get into a better program with a Fulbright though
  23. I'm in the humanities And it wouldn't have for me according to multiple professors. Just to give my experience.
  24. My gut says Wednesday, especially if Tuesday is closed out by snow.
  25. This is why I said some fields, just to clarify. In mine, it wouldn't help much because it isn't viewed as being as rigorous a program, as self directed a program, and as academic a program as the other two. Obviously this depends on field or school. It can vary widely. I just heard from quite a few academics that the ETA isn't viewed as being ad prestigious or connected as the full grants.
