  1. Yes, LinkedIn has a "who's viewed your profile" section. You can see who it was as long as that person doesn't have an anonymous profile, which whoever viewed mine does. But, LinkedIn will tell you where they work, where they are at, what type of a job they have, etc. That's how I know it was someone from UW. I know nobody at UW or Seattle so I'm assuming it's somehow associated with my application.
  2. I am still waiting on Evans and Harris. Interestingly, someone from UW looked at my LinkedIn profile a couple of weeks ago. I don´t know who because I don´t have an account that allows me to see that but I am hopeful that it means something good. Has anyone else noticed that on LlinkedIn?
  3. @zworld707 Thanks for the heads up! I didn't get in, sadly. There was no email. I just checked USC connect and there was my letter. Still keeping my hopes up for a couple schools but I'll likely have to do this again next year, with better GRE scores, I hope! Best to all!!
  4. Hi everyone, I saw on the results board that someone was accepted at the University of Southern California. How did they notify you? Anyone else hear from them? That's my top school so I'm on freak-out mode.
  5. It’s been really quiet here! Any more news and acceptances?
  6. Hey everyone, is it fair to assume that UCLA has sent out all their acceptances?
  7. Congratulations!! That's wonderful news! I got the message from UW Evans about them starting to review applications. Also got a message from Chicago Harris asking whether I would consider a research focused MPP if I'm not accepted into the PhD program.
  8. Hilarious!!! I laughed to tears picturing the admissions person reading the subject line!!!
  9. Hi there! I´ve heard nothing so far but I´m trying to stay positive that I´ll be accepted somewhere. Thematically, I´m interested in exploring topics at the intersection of health, gender and violence. From a public administration standpoint, I´m interested in program evaluation as a tool that can improve accountability and effective service delivery. There are several professors working on different aspects of those issues at the schools I applied to so I´m hopeful that at least one of them will be interested in working with me. BTW, someone found an older thread of Public affairs PhD. We should switch to that one!
  10. Hi usercat, I tried starting a thread about this a few days ago... I can´t wait to start hearing back from schools. I applied to USC, Evans, Harrris for Public Policy and then NYU and UCLA for Sociology. I´m concerned about low GRE scores and my writing sample - most of my writing is in Spanish so they´re not reading my best work! I´m very hopeful... It takes just one acceptance! Best of luck! E
  11. Hi everyone, I haven't seen a thread on Public Policy PhDs. Anyone out there waiting for news? Heard back from schools? I applied to USC Price, Chicago Harris and UW Evans. I hate the wait!
  12. Hi everyone, I've been trying to find the acceptance rate for the PhD Program at USC Sol Price. Anyone? How competitive is it? Thanks!
  13. I also did a quick search online and it sounds like previous cohorts have started around march... I´m still holding my hopes up!
  14. Hi there, I have also been wondering about NETI. I haven’t heard back and the application page still says “In process.” Any news?
  15. Fasboo, I’m curious on how you did with your applications. I have a similar background and was discouraged from applying to some programs because, you know, I didn’t match their usual student profile. That is, I didn’t major in anthro, I have a masters in international non-profit management, and despite the fact that I’ve worked on research, having worked for 6-7 years sounded like a problem. I’ve been rejected by 5 of the 6 schools I applied to and I’m wondering if it’s even worth it to re-apply next year.... I’ll always be competing with people who majored in anthro and have a more linear trajectory. Feel free to PM me if that’s better. BTW, after my rejections I requested feedback on my applications and only one of the five schools responded - alas, it was a generic, not very useful "too many applicants for few slots” message.
  16. Anrtho2014, just curious - how/when did you hear from Columbia?
  17. I can’t access my UCLA decision!! The system claims that I’m entering the wrong password and after nine attempts has finally shut down! I take it from the sea of red on the results board that it’s a rejection but not being able to see is adding insult to injury. Booo!!
  18. LOL! Maybe that’s why I haven’t gotten accepted anywhere... apparently I can’t even read. I’m now expecting a rejection. Thanks!
  19. The results on the board were for medical anthro, right? I think there was just one that was unspecified, but since it was on the same day as the medical ones I assumed it must have been for med anthro as well. I’m cultural so I’m still waiting even though per previous years' schedules acceptances should have been notified by now. I wish they’d just say something already.
  20. Aw... spoke too soon... just noticed there’s the first acceptance to UCLA on the results board. Anyone want to claim it?
  21. Good to know UCLA is closed tomorrow. Thanks Sarab. e
  22. Hi everyone, Just wondering if anyone has heard from Columbia or UCLA? Columbia seems to be a bit later than most schools but UCLA should have been around now. Anyone? Let’s hope for some good news this week! E
  23. Rejected from CUNY, via email. Cultural Anthro. Keeping my head up but realizing that this dream might not happen for me. Best of luck to everyone!
