There's one troll on the results page that says he won....
Which raises a valid question. Will the page say "Hi fellow" if you win?
Poor guy probably didn't realize he was on the Demo site. Either that or yeah, trolling.

Hey at least they didn't pull a Sopranos and cut it off right in the

It's also "early April" now... so it's not like it was a dumb thought.
Lol man don't worry, they were just trolling because we've been sitting here since it went down (roughly 3 hours ago) anxiously awaiting the results post, and basically the last 10 pages or so are filled with anxiety and speculation on the subject.

FYI: For those imbibing to make the time go faster/make the evening more exciting, I'd suggest keeping your alcohol intake in check. I had a particularly bad experience last year by going over my limit and NOT receiving an award, resulting in a rather terrible physical (and emotional!) hangover the next day...
I wish I was imbibing... In fact, Power Hour for the last hour of downtime sounds like an awesome idea! Alas, I'm working on an hour-ish long presentation I have to give at my group meeting on Thursday.

This is a really stupid question, late to the thread i guess, but where am I supposed to see the decision? It should be obvious once I log in, right? Where it says "final status?"
As this is my first year I can't answer that directly, but I was planning on not even logging in, just searching the results list.

Should be populated as soon as they post.

If you're using google Chrome there's a free extension called "Auto Refresh Plus" that is really straightforward -- that's what I'm using now, it refreshes so I don't have to, and will put a pop-up and play a sound when a certain word triggers (i.e. I'm using the search term "honorable").
Who is our neurotic page refresher who will let us know exactly when the results are up?

I recommend the Pandora station "Classical Music for Studying"
Helps keep the stress down. -
i wish... it seems my 1st, 2nd, 3rd usernames were already taken on fastlane. Really should have written this down. Anyone know where I can find it?
All they have on the site that I've seen is the following in the help section:
4. I lost my username for the GRFP application. How can I retrieve it?
You can click the Forgot Username link and retrieve your username after you have completed the screen form. Or contact the FastLane Help Central at 1-800-673-6188 (office hours: Monday-Friday, 7 am - 9 pm EST) or email fastlane@nsf.gov.
For some reason they deleted the Forgot Username link, but I changed the URL from the password one to give the following (which works):
https://www.fastlane.nsf.gov/grfp/GRFPForgotUsername.do?method=loadForgotUsernamePage&type=fellow

Who is staying awake until results come out?
Since I'm on the west coast and "working" on a presentation for group meeting anyway, I'll be up

GLORY
Welcome to the FastLane Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP).
GRFP/FastLane will be unavailable from 10:00 PM ET Monday March 31st - 2:00 AM ET Tuesday, April 1st for scheduled maintenance. We apologize for any inconvenience
*Edit* For anyone who comes looking for this post a year from now... The exact time my auto-refreshing macro picked up "unavailable" as a text update was exactly 5:00pm pacific time. */edit*

Did anyone see the twitter? Sounds like they might be trying to say it's tonight without actually saying it.
Sounds like the social media intern is not authorized (or informed enough?) to comment any further

With this and Google's Pokemon challenge... I have no idea how I'm ever going to finish this group meeting presentation.
In case people haven't seen this yet...

I just went digging through the results for NDSEG, and it looks like the award time is a good deal more variable than for NSF. Last year, the majority of awards went out April 3rd (which was a Wednesday), so we may be hearing as soon as next week. The year before, the awards seemed to be erratically placed between mid April and as late as August 1 (??).
Anyway best of luck to everyone! And don't get your hopes up if you're waitlisted (which from last year looks like happens to a SHITLOAD of people)... better to assume it means rejected and have a pleasant surprise to find out you got it later than be destroyed again. -
Does everybody see these when they log into fastlane, right click, and click "view page source (and CTRL-F for 'fellow')?"
<!-- <p class="leadtitle">Welcome Fellows</P> -->
<!-- Fellow Stats fixed 170px -->
<!-- END Fellow Stats -->
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's there for everyone. Those are all comments in HTML coding so it is most likely just so the webmonkey putting the page up doesn't have to do more work than copy paste.

Could be next Tuesday morning.
Time to get drunk anyway!!

Is it just me, or does the FastLane logo in a browser tab look like a cheap, pixelated knockoff of the Internet Explorer icon?

Last year, I received a generic rejection letter in email and had to log into Fastlane to view comments and scores from the reviewers. I expect it to be the same this year.
p.s. can we talk about how awesome it is that we actually get feedback from the reviewers, unlike other fellowships. The comments aren't much, but it's still better than trying to guess why you didn't receive the award.
If you want some serious, no-punches-pulled quality feedback, try applying for an NIH F31 fellowship! They take forever to hand down fellowship decisions (I'm still waiting, and I applied last August), but everyone in the top 50 or 60% gets a thorough, ~12 page summary statement delivered by 3 main reviewers (from a study section of around ~25 people who discuss it in a closed section). It's actually useful feedback for a change haha

After neurotically watching this thread for weeks I finally caved and signed up. This is my first time applying and I've been wondering what the procedure is regarding the application reviews… do those get sent to us separately or are they available on Fastlane once the decisions go up?
I can't comment on the delivery (this is my first app, too -- I'd assume it's through Fastlane), but I've seen the feedback sheets (from labmates) and they aren't entirely helpful, unfortunately.

His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy.......
hahahhaah

Out of curiosity, was your labmate on the HM list, too?
Yep, they said they'd notify him within a month if he was upgraded to Fellow.
-
Just got my letter as well, Honorable Mention. Also my labmate did, he got on the alternates list.
Good luck to all for this and future fellowships! -
^^ I wouldn't give up hope yet! My labmate who got the predoc award a few years back didn't get his award notification until early to mid April. It's possible the letters have been sent out already, but I don't think we have enough information to draw that inference. Anyway, hoping for the best!

I'd recommend emailing them. I did, after attempting (fruitlessly) to call them, and received a response in 5 minutes (rejection email).
