  1. UGH. Waiting is the worst. I want to be hopeful, but not to the point of crushing disappointment...
  2. I am with you. I cannot apply for Fulbright-Hays because my research is in Britain, though. I am also waiting on Wenner Gren, which should be very soon as well! So much of the rest of my PhD program depends on what news I get back this week...waiting is painful!
  3. In years past, the transcript requests came out over the course of several days. Rejections are sent through snail mail, but those requests through email. So, I imagine all emails should be going out this week. Keep updating! Are any of you waiting on other grants as well?
  4. Congrats! I know that I applied for the IDRF, which is a different grant, but it is always nice to hear good news for other people.
  5. I'm hoping to go to Britain to study alternative religious communities as a response to secularism.
  6. Hooray for you! Keep the updates coming, folks!
  7. according to the thread on last year's competition, requests for transcripts started going out the first week of February...so we should know if we've made it past the first round within a few weeks!
  8. Most graduate programs would probably let you defer for a year if you get offered a Fulbright. It always looks good on the University stats to have Fulbrighters. Grad school will always be there (believe me, I'm in it)...but Fulbright is a rare chance!
  9. Last year, when I was rejected, I got the letter in late January, I believe. I think the website says sometime in February is when we should find out this time around. Hopefully something comes through!
  10. I'm waiting to hear back from SSRC and Wenner-Gren! Should be within the next month or so for both of them. I so appreciate the cheerleading!
  11. I feel the same way. Even though I got DENIED (BOOO), I still want to be on here with you people. None of the other forums for grants I applied for are as vocal and awesome...
  12. so glad for you that are recommended. for the rest of us, I'll pour a drink out for you, homies. Now, back to work...
  13. not recommended. My egotistical side is surprised, but my brain says keep on trucking. Congrats to those who made it to the next round!
  14. yay!!!!! YOU ROCK!
  15. CONGRATS! For those not recommended...we are with you, and you will still do amazing things.
  16. t plus 32 minutes. you know, Fulbright, it's really unprofessional to be late...
  17. people are probably googling for answers, and finding us. we have no answers, new-comers...only stress and booze!
  18. 5 minutes. my hands are sweaty. i feel faint. good luck, and I'll catch you all on the flipside!
  19. 15 minutes!
  20. Romance, schomance...I just want that email!
  21. 161...hello everyone! t minus 1 hour, 19 minutes!
  22. Seriously. What I wouldn't give for this kind of data about my research population! But hey, Fulbright, fund me and I'll totally get that data, AND MORE!
  23. That is very weird. I just checked mine and didn't see anything like that...
  24. Yes, and some of them are spilling the beans early. Sadly, my FPA was absolutely horrific. I almost didn't apply because the prospect of working with her was so terrible. But for those that have good relationships with their FPAs, they might get some info...
  25. I just found a forgotten bit of chocolate in my campus desk drawer. I'm calling today a win.
