Congrats raku and lolasen! That is excellent news! I hear nothing but good things about their program- especially the large amount of space available for installations and exhibiting your work! However, I am also wary of making an outright acceptance until I have visited. I'm hoping I get to go weekend after next to Carnegie Mellon and squeeze in a visit to The Mattress Factory while I am there because Janine Antoni is exhibiting until March 30.

For your deferral, did you put something down or commit to attend this year after waiting a year? I just wonder if that affects anything?

I don't think it is bad etiquette to ask about funding- you need to know. I also do not think it would be a bad idea to email MassArt and see where you stand with them.

sarlizabeth, is Columbia College not offering you funding? I hear they have a wonderful photo program. Have you visited them?

Got the phone call from Carnegie Mellon today! John Carson, the head of the department, called me himself and let me know I've been accepted!!!! Wow! Extremely thrilled! He said funding information was forthcoming and would be including in the official letter.

I got a call from Mills last night, but was watching a movie and had my phone on silent. Samara Halperin left a message to give her a call, but didn't say whether or not it was for an interview or if I have been accepted. I tried calling her back, but she didn't answer. Quite excited about this prospect!

semi-congrats? So, you have been accepted to your dream program- in part.... please celebrate what you have received thus far. To me, it would be incredibly difficult to complete an MFA and another degree at the same time because the MFA is extremely time consuming. If you don't get into it, perhaps you can follow with that after you complete your MA?

riordjj, my feeling is that it may not necessarily mean anything. I received that email February 19 and I believe it is notification that they have received your FAFSA information. I had two CA schools that I listed to receive my information, including one that I ultimately decided to not apply to.

It sounds to me like you have been accepted to SAIC to me. Call them? As for UC Berkeley, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I am pretty certain they have made their acceptances after interviews about a month ago. You should call to confirm.
