You said your school knows your status.. does that mean that your school knows whether you were officially selected?

I went to email her today and saw the same thing! I thought that I was just on a different site than I was before when I found Eileen's name. But that would make sense.

From what I can tell on the spreadsheet and personal experience, lots of Europe/Eurasia doesn't know yet. Bosnia, Sweden, Ukraine, Russia, Macedonia, and others. A lot of comparatively small programs haven't heard back, it seems.
-
That's amazing news. Can't wait to see all the SSA acceptances when I check again at 5:45pm!

I feel a little bit bad for all of the Program Managers. April must be the worst month of the year for them. At least by May, the urgency may have increased, but the volume is a lot less. If I knew these people in real life, I'd buy them a drink after the notification period was over.

I hadn't even thought about the holiday. Previously, my country has found out on the 19th, which was Good Friday last year. That would lead me to believe that they take an Easter Monday, not a Good Friday off. I don't know. I'm grasping at straws here.

Nope, you're not the last European country to hear back-- Bosnia is still waiting

Better than not getting a call and realizing Target messed up again! I'm trying really hard to have the glass half full.

So strange that there's been seemingly little to no movement on acceptances today. I guess there really is a hold up on Europe/Eurasia. Bet there will be a flood of acceptances as soon as the dam breaks. I'm still gunning for Friday or earlier. Fingers crossed, y'all!

I thought many more countries would have found out today, considering this is the deadline for a lot of school acceptances. =\
-
I'm somewhat resigned to not finding out until Friday, but I'm still hoping today is the day. Crossing my fingers for all of us Europe/Eurasia folks!
-
Anyone here applying to Jordan? My friend heard back that she was accepted, but I'm not sure if she's ETA or research. =\
-
YES! Congrats! I was rooting for you!
-
I'm sorry! But we're keeping up hope that this time, you'll be chosen. You're still in the running! *fingers crossed*

Notifications are coming out early today! Congrats to all the new grantees!

I always do this. A quick thank you card with a Starbucks/crate & barrel gift card, or something more personal if you know them really well. Last time I travelled, I had a grant from my university and a bunch of fundraised help from loved ones. I made sure I sent select people postcards from the trip, or gave a shout out on my travel blog. Small things like that don't cost much money at all, and let them know that you're grateful for however they've helped. If you get the Fulbright, I'd send them a quick email before you leave as well. Just to let them know the plan actually came to fruition. Let them know you'll be gone for however long, and that they helped you get there! Also toss them a blog link (if you plan on doing so) so you have one more reader! My professors always love that kind of stuff. It also helps keep them in the loop in case you ask for another recommendation when you get back.

I got more or less a copied and pasted response from Bosnia. I anticipate we'll all be finding out around the same time.
-
VERY helpful. Thank you so much!
-
CONGRATS! I'm really excited to see how your fulbright turns out! Congrats to all the India grantees!
-
You got it!

Emailed my program officer and I got: "I would be hopeful that it will be sooner rather than later but beyond that we are still awaiting State Department approval to move forward." Sigh. Does that mean the decision was made, but they haven't gotten confirmation to tell us? I didn't expect to find out before the 11th anyway. I was irrationally hoping that today would be the day.

I listened because I'm a creepy interloper. I mean, I don't know anything at all about composing, but what I heard was amazingggg!

Good point. But I'd also like to point out that it's not just the younger generation. I've seen a fair number of older people on Facebook, email, and other outlets inadvertently misuse the internet. It's not just a millennial issue, despite how people like to depict it. That said, if anyone ever sees anything that I say that they think might be objectionable, it's perfectly acceptable to send a discreet message saying so. I'd certainly be receptive to the criticism. Better safe than sorry.

Sorry!! I hope you have a big vat of ice cream at the ready to gourge yourself on-- that's what I always do. I know you'll end up doing something just as great, if not better.

That sounds like an amazing project!
