  1. Glad i'm not the only one with the FEAR of not remembering everything from undergraduate (been out for 2 years) Focus: Dysphagia/Swalloing, TBI, Stroke, Head/Neck Cancer - unsure if I want to focus on Dysphagia with Adults or Infants. I love babies Career Dream: Private practice one day, specializing in Dysphagia/Swallowing and Voice Disorders, or some type of clinic for Dysphagia/Swallowing with the capabilities to FEES,Videofluoroscopic Swallow Studies, etc.without having to send patients to a hospital. Also would like to do mission work in the US and other countries for individuals who don't have enough financial assistance to have help provided.
  2. http://speechymusings.com/ this is one of my favorites
  3. I found it on ProEd http://www.proedinc.com/customer/productview.aspx?id=3629 with the Flash Drive
  4. Thanks guys! I plan on purchasing that soon, that sounds awesome and a good way to get started practicing for the Praxis! I'm sure we will all do well
  5. Okay, so for those of you that have been accepted to graduate school (specifically those who have been out of school for more than a year) but everyone really, what are you doing to prepare? I feel almost a bit out of the loop because I graduated a year and a half ago (not that long I know), and i'm hoping I remember things from my undergraduate classes that I need to, etc. Anyone else have those feelings or thoughts? Just wondering what I should be doing to prepare. As of now, i'm brushing up on Phonetics, and some basics about normal communciation and then the spectrum of disorders. I've also been doing some reading on hearing and language screenings, because I think that's what we are doing first in my graduate program, before classes even begin. I hope i'm not the only nervous one! What is everyone else doing to prepare?
  6. DEFINITELY Get Magoosh. It is the best. Raised my score over 5 points! Good luck.
  7. Yeah, that makes sense. Well I will be there starting in the fall and i'll be glad to update you on how the classroom life is, etc. and the teaching style in regards to Christianity!
  8. How do you take the surveys??
  9. I think they would feel accepted!!From what I hear there is a large number that are not Seventh-Day Adventist and i'm sure those that don't identify with the Christian Faith as well. That might be something to ask the faculty about? How much is the Christian faith brought into the classroom, the university, etc.. I know they have chapel sometimes, not sure if it's a requirement, but if those are things that might bother you then it's something to consider.
  10. Same here, haven't heard anything. It's ridiculous!
  11. I made a facebook group: Loma Linda University Speech Language Pathology Class of 2016 LLU.Speech2016@groups.facebook.com https://www.facebook.com/groups/LLU.Speech2016/

  13. Anyone lived or living in Loma Linda? I'll be moving there late August. Curious about places to live, how the town is and the surrounding cities. Also interested in anyone's tips about moving across country. i'll be coming from NC.
  14. Okay! $200 isn't too bad. Yeah, i'm definitely waiting, just to be positive. Yes, we have awhile so hopefully i'll be able to save enough up for a visit. We need to get a facebook page going also. Maybe i'll work on that!
  15. Okay cool! I assume mine will be coming in the mail shortly. I plan to e-mail, but wanted to wait until I see the official letter in the mail from LLU. That's a bummer you won't get the deposit back. I doubt i'll get mine back either, but it was only $150. How much was LLU's deposit? I'm not local, unfortunately! I'll be moving from NC - completely across the country! I may be coming out sometime this summer to visit/look for places though, so if I do we should definitely all meet up! Can't wait.
