Ecology here! Applying to all Canadian universities and crossing my fingers

As far as I understand it, if you make contact with a professor who wants you as their student, then they will push your application through a bit by saying 'Yes, i want to work with this student.' etc. So as far as contacting after the deadline...I'm not sure. May be a little too late but I really doubt that it would hurt. You can just tell them you submitted the application somewhere in your email.

Yup. I'm facing the March/April wait and the thought of waiting that long absolutely kills me. I still check the website 2x a day even though I know I'm not going to hear back until later.

I know it's necessary for most ecology master's applications, but I think you're okay with other fields.

I can't see myself getting TOO upset on the two that I'm not that interested in anyway, but if I get rejected from my top choice (and the school I have the best chances at) I will be heartbroken.

When was your application due date? I'm applying to UofA and the materials still aren't due for a few more days! Wish it was longer though, seeing how one of my letter writers STILL hasn't mailed her letter.

My PI forgot to send her reference too. I'm trying not to freak out, I emailed the department and explained the situation. I'll keep you updated on what happens with me too.

I applied to three programs, and I'm honestly expecting to get rejected from two. I couldn't find supervisors, and they're needed to get accepted for my degree program. Basically all my hopes are riding on one acceptance.

UBC allowed me to email it in, but the University of Alberta made me mail it.
