I have "returned to department" or some variant on about two or so of my apps. I wish the statuses were clearer. That tells me nothing. Even when I called to ask about it, one gave me a roundabout answer.
One of my apps says "INCOMPLETE" in scary red letters, even though the checklist has everything as having been received and someone from the office told me they have everything.
I wanted to apply to Columbia but the no funding for MA thing caused me to abort the whole idea (wasted two rec letters on it, too). What are you doing about funding?
I applied to all (funded) MAs. I was going to go for a PhD, but a mixed of being scared and uninformed (that fear and lack of information is gone now), wanting more time, and formulating a plan that would fit around getting an MA and THEN PhD led me to where I am. This is now totally what I want.
So far I've been admitted to two. I'm waiting on funding info from one and waitlisted for funding for the other.
I got accepted in Virginia Tech's English MA program but waitlisted for funds. As this pans out, I'm crossing my fingers that someone found a better deal somewhere else.
I applied to Africana Women's Studies at Clark Atlanta. I'm still getting paperwork in, though. Also, I'm having trouble with a letter writer who seems to want to sit on her hands instead of write me a dang letter.
ETSU has an M.A. in storytelling, which is pretty neat-o.
MTSU has an M.A. in Equestrian Sciences, which makes sense when you consider the fact that TN is under KY.
I applied to Georgia State for Af Am Studies and Clark Atlanta for Africana Women's Studies. Their deadlines aren't until March 1st, so I'm gonna be waiting.
I also applied to North Carolina A&T for African American Lit, also.
If I don't get accepted I will....
Look into teacher certification classes, possibly in Nashville, and give that a go while working on my own personal projects. Namely making a legitimate crafting business (Which I'm going to do regardless) and blogging.
And then I'll just apply all over again in a while.
