  1. Hi, Current fulbrighter with a condition very similar to your own and was in treatment when I filled out the medical form. It will in no way affect your candidacy. Because I was in CBT at the time of filling out the medical form, I submitted a letter from my therapist confirming that my condition in no way affected my ability to conduct research and live on my own for nine months. But since you haven't been in treatment for six years, I'm guessing you will not have to do this. Hope this helps!
  2. Thought I'd make this thread for a general discussion of the field. I'd be interested in hearing more about what fellow Latin Americanists are working on/how their programs are going/ resource sharing, etc.

    Awesome! Congrats on getting in!
  4. I would second this. It was a required book in the German courses I took and it helped A LOT. I'm not great with languages, so if it is at all possible for you to maybe audit the course (if formally enrolling isn't an option) I would go for it.

Are any of the U Chicago acceptances here from the Latin American or International history fields? Still holding onto the silly hope that they are being released by field.
  6. I've had a similar experience. Some of my POI's were even willing to discuss my project further and talked about approaches they would take. They also shared information about what their students have gone on to do after the PhD, and professional development on behalf of the department. Phone conversations also allowed me to learn a little more about their personalities, which is helpful too.
  7. agh! thats too bad. I actually waited until after the deadline to send my transcripts (which is what the site said to do). Its also surprising since the deadline was 3 weeks ago.

Thanks! I went to check again and all it says is "Your application has been received and will be reviewed by your program. Please refer to this page for updates." The waiting game continues. But congrats to you cats! Fingers crossed for full funding.

I wonder if they release the results by field? I applied to UW Madison and my status is still pending...
