Ah OK my bad. Someone had said earlier that they were expecting to hear at 2pm, because the results were announced at 2pm last year..I guess I confused it all. What waiting does to my brain.

Just because they announced the results on Feb 18th last year doesn't mean they will do the same thing this year I know we're all curious (and believe me, I just want to hear back from all the places and have a peace of mind), but we should maybe not rely on previous years' trends so much.

Confirmed: UChicago: "The Office of the Dean of Students will email all official admission decisions and they expect to do so by February 18." So, today.

Emailed them a few hours ago. Don't overinterpret --I'm sure they receive so many emails, and some might get lost.

Ah seriously? That's actually not so cool. After filling out long applications and paying the dreaded application fee, students deserve at least a boring rejection email, come on.

NYU confirmed: The admissions process is ongoing, and they'll get all results out "in the next weeks." Very nice and rapid response. Curiosity continues.

I heard back from Northwestern IR last week. Perhaps they are somehow scattering their announcements as well.

Emailed UChicago and NYU, since I haven't heard back from them, though people received their results over a week ago. Now awaiting rejection emails.. Still, I'd much prefer knowing over waiting in the dark.

Main focus IR, secondary focus theory. Fingers crossed for you! I also get the sense that it is a great department --just a bit confused, because they aren't really considered among the best with rankings/discussions. Wondering why that might be.

Hello everyone, Since I know very little about Northwestern's polisci department/program, I wanted to hear your opinion on the school and the program. Any current/former students who can share some experience? What's the feel and direction of the department? What is it like living in Evanston? Do students go abroad several years or do they spend almost all of their time at NU? Comments would be much appreciated! Many thanks.

I read on last year's forum that Harvard sent some of its rejections via snail mail..I have no idea about the accuracy of this information. Thus wondering if anyone has a clue. Applying this to UChicago, if people heard good news, could that mean that the rejections need to wait for USPS?

Have many people heard back from NYU? I still haven't --most likely a bad sign, but do you think emailing them would help? They must be quite annoyed by countless 'where is my decision' mails.
