I am too. Does anyone know what the better housing solutions are for grad students?

Congrats on the acceptances willow, you have every reason to be satisfied with the results of your applications. May I ask what you are going to decide?
-
Congratulations!

Hi everyone, I am lucky enough to have been accepted in a program which I am very enthusiastic about and there is now nothing refraining me from accepting. To accept I need to send the director of graduate studies an email. This is going to sound silly but I don't really know how to phrase it and I would appreciate any input you may have on the matter. Thanks

Just got that rejection myself
-
Sorry to hear that. Actually not that sorry 'cause you got into Bekeley, which was my dream school . Congrats on that one!
-
I applied to OR for which there was a rejection posted today. And I agree on wishing luck to everyone. We are starting the final sprint of this process, let's hope we all finish the race happy with our results.

Another dull day. It's already March 10th and I still have 6 applications out there. I know I am facing a rejection from UMich after all the acceptances and waitlistings got posted, and GaTech is not before the end of the month. But still, what are the other schools doing? Cornell, Duke, Carnegie Mellon, UCLA, email me already!

What would be even better is an iPhone application that would gather this information for all your applications so you could check with one glance where you are everywhere in real time

Congrats on the admission! I don't know much about USC's program. I think the school has an overall quite good reputation so it might be worth looking into it. And it's in sunny California, which is a definite plus

There was a second rejection posted today and dated as of today (are the adcoms really working on a Saturday?). Anyway, this demonstrates activity in the department and we might hear sooner than I expected...
-
Sorry to hear that. Hang in there, I am sure positive news will come, your profile looks quite strong. (BTW, are you the one who posted the rejection?)
-
It does seem to be very rushed and not quite right to impose this upon you. The rule of thumb is the April 15th deadline though that is primarily for PhDs. However, giving you barely 10 days to make up your mind is a bit odd. I would try to have the deadline postponed, after all they cannot take the offer back from you so there isn't much to lose with trying.

Same here, but as long as we are not the one getting the rejections, we are still in the game, lol. Usually decisions from Cornell come in mid-March (except for stellar applicants who are courted in February), and we should not be expecting to hear from them for another week I would say. On a similar note, it was said early this week that the remaining decisions from UMich would be sent this week and I have yet to hear from them, has anybody heard anything? It's funny because I always thought that I would know virtually all of my applications decisions by the end of February and I started March with still 7 pending applications out of 11. I guess they really are testing our patience...

Anyone heard back from PhD programs?
Deleted replied to George's topic in Mathematics and Statistics
I have been accepted to Johns Hopkins this afternoon (Applied Maths). But only 80% tuition waiver and waitlisted for a TA position... But it always feels great to hear this kind of news. The email was a bit weird by the way: it was an empty email (utterly blank) with 3 files attached, lol. -
I have been accepted to Johns Hopkins this afternoon (Applied Maths with a specialization in OR). But only 80% tuition waiver and waitlisted for a TA position... Anyway I already liked NU better but it always feels great to hear this kind of news. The email was a bit weird by the way: it was an empty email (utterly blank) with 3 files attached, lol.

It has to be tomorrow then...

Congratulations on the admission! where was that?

Does this mean the reputation and popularity of the forum has grown a lot or is it also partly because of a significantly increased number of grad applicants this year? By the way, I believe this is my 100th post, yay.

15th April. But the rush is not NU but my work, I MUST tell them I quit before 15th March and I want to be able to do that knowing that I have accepted an offer and that I am covered because for some reason I fear they are going to take back the offer, lol.
-
You could email (even anonimously if you fear for your application) about the decisions. I'm sort of in the same boat, only waiting for Cornell's rejection to accept my first offer
-
I applied to UCLA (Anderson), CMU (Tepper), Duke (Fuqua). Still no news from them

What do you mean by UCLA moving faster? I saw someone posted an acceptance to the DOTM program, has anyone heard anything or knows when to expect decisions?
