Whatever happens today, remember:

You are right that only certain countries do interviews, usually the countries with strict language requirements. But I know from a conversation with my adviser last year that more and more countries are choosing to incorporate interviews into their selection process each year. I think he said that last year there were 3 countries that conducted interviews for the first time.

Yay! I just received the same email from my adviser! I got the impression last year that Fulbright advisers were not permitted by to give information on notifications. So I wonder if the Fulbright program is trying to be more transparent in the selection process? Anyway, I am very excited that we will be finding out tomorrow. Best of luck to everyone!

This is my second time applying. I applied to Moldova last year and was selected as an alternate. I applied with the same research proposal, but with stronger affiliation letters and additional experience - so fingers crossed! I am hoping that we are notified as early as last year, but since last year was the earliest notification in recent history I am guessing that we will have to wait a bit longer.

That's interesting! I can't say for sure when Switzerland notifies recommended applicants, but I went back and checked our spreadsheet from last year and it looks like Switzerland's applicants were notified on the same day as everyone else (January 16th). Hi there! I'm a fellow alternate this cycle! While I'm still hopeful that I'll be bumped up this year, I will be applying for the 2016-2017 grant if I'm not. I was planning on just listing in the application form that I had applied to Fulbright and that I was chosen as an alternate. I'm sure it won't go unnoticed and I feel like there is so little room in the SOGP and PS for extra info about previous applications. But I'm sure that either way is fine, I think it should definitely be somewhere in your application though.

Congratulations to all of you newly minted Fulbrighters! And my thoughts are with everyone still waiting, I don't know how you are doing it! But stay strong!

Ah!! I'm glad that you finally received your notification! It's not the best news. But think good thoughts, there is still hope for us even though it stings to get the (A).

I hope that you find out soon, too! The waiting game is torture! Sadly, as an alternate my wait is extended. But crossing my fingers that your answer comes today or, at least, this week!

Well, the statistics aren't updated yet - but there seems to be some progress on the Fulbright website. They have changed some of the featured profiles on the home page. So maybe that is an indication that the statistics and other information will be updated soon!

I just got the (A) for Moldova also...I have so many questions. Is there less funding?? Are there more applicants than we thought??

I am sorry to hear that! But there is still hope, and it is pretty amazing to be an alternate out of such a large pool of applicants, I am sure that doesn't make you feel much better though.

I just saw on the spreadsheet that Switzerland was notified today. Congratulations to that Switzerland Fulbright researcher on our spreadsheet!

According to Instagram, Russia was notified! Fellow Eurasia applicants, could next week be our week??!
