Hey y'all! I have just been accepted w/ funding to George Mason's MFA program. I was just wondering if there was anyone else out there in the same boat and if anyone has updated info on the best places to live??
  2. I have a friend who was in a somewhat similar situation kind of a limbo/wait-list/purgatory thing a while back. A month before classes started she was offered acceptance w/o funding. She didn't want to go w/o funding but took a risk anyway and long story short, she ended up with funding a week before classes started. Keep the hope alive y'all. You never know what will happen if you are in the limbo area. Hope for the best, plan for the worst. Start looking at internship ops places!!! Internships are fun (at least I like 'em a lot).
  3. BOO! That is awful. Are you looking into any internship ops or anything for the coming year? If you apply to wherever I end up this year for next year I will vouch for you!!!
  4. I'll be around for awhile on here too, I rather like the folks I have met and love keeping in touch with people.
  5. Thanks! And I hope you hear from Indiana ASAP!
  6. So is anyone participating in this thread or reading it accepted to Cincinnati for the MA program in poetry that is planning on turning it down or still considering other programs? I am not attempting to convince anyone to turn down the acceptance, just trying to put the likelihood of a ridiculous dream becoming a reality! I just talked to Cincinnati and I am #1 on the wait-list and Cincinnati is my top choice and I would like to lock that down so I could turn down my other offers and open up spots for others in other programs if at all possible. Thanks guys!
  7. YIKES!? Still no word? That's ridiculous!
  8. Hopefully you will hear something this week? It is starting to get late for any and all schools. WHY MUST THEY TORTURE US!?
  9. Beware the ides of March tomorrow, y'all!
  10. If I am not incorrect doesn't posting something like this on here make it unpublishable? Or has it already been published? Regardless if you haven't sent this to Bitter Oleander that might be a good journal to try to submit to. Thanks for sharing! I would share one, but I am wary that it would result in my poem being unpublishable (like I said I am not 100% certain about these rules). However, here is a link to my first publication from a couple years back http://issuu.com/barelysouth/docs/barely_south_review_-_april_2012 and a newer one http://www.rappahannockreview.com/issue-1-2/homemade/ Rappahannock is a great new journal (Check all they have in both issues out and submit there too!).
