  1. THIS ^^^ Right here. A million times! All you can do is your very best, whatever that may look like. Don't take what others say personally- truth is their comments have nothing to do with you and more to do about their own feelings and thoughts. Shake it off! Shake it off!
  2. Congrats to all the accepted future SLP's!!!!!
  3. Yup, I feel that same way! I was told maybe on the 20th or 27th! Here's hoping! Good Luck!
  4. Oh, wow. Such a big difference! I am off to google EdFind! Thanks. Somewhat reinsuring!!!! Thanks
  5. Oh wow! Double is a lot. I think I remember hearing that 700+ was the number of people who applied for the UO last year. Of course, that was a year ago, so I could be wrong. 4-500 applicants is a lot! Holy smokes!
  6. Yea, I don't think 700+ people is unusual for high for a university in Oregon. But that doesn't mean there are 700+ qualified applicants.
  7. The UO just told me they will send out info in the beginning of spring break! Here is hoping! Good Luck everyone! If you get into an Oregon school, post here and let us Oregon folks know!!!!
  8. And yes, how did they contact you?! Is Oregon one of you 1st choices?
  9. Congratulations!!!! That's wonderful news.
  10. Hi! Who is applying to any Oregon schools? Has anyone heard anything? I hate this waiting game!
  11. I find this song to be so relevant while waiting to hear from Grad Schools.
  12. Hi. There is another thread about the UO that might be helpful for you! If you check out "find content" under my profile you should be able to find it.
  13. I am friends with several grad students. It's hard. Especially if you are going into the program without your Neuro requirements but everyone one I know really likes the program. I am not sure about labs. I know that what they teach is based on research, so maybe that is what they meant? Did you get accepted/waitlisted? I think they have an open house coming up, it might be useful for you to attend, or you can email?
  14. What do ya wanna know about their programs that isn't on their website? I am happy to help if I can. And re: the second languages, I think it has to do with the way they point the applications.
  15. I did my undergrad at the UO and was waitlisted. The program is awesome. You will have an opportunity to be taught my Marilyn Nippold, Heather Moore and Karen McLaughlin among others! Nippolds area of focus is in Language Development. Moores focus is on Child Development and Karen specializes in acquired language disorders. The building is new and beautiful. It's a great school IMO. It's my 1st choice, but my focus is on Child Development. If you have the opportunity, you should come check out the campus!
  16. Yay! Congratulations! I think the practicum assistantship is a great idea! I have been doing one for two terms now and love it!
  17. I think it's worth applying! I really love the UO and everything it has to offer.
  18. Hey, Does anyone know what is the chance of being accepted off of wait list? Is it appropriate to ask where I stand on the list?
  19. I also got waitlisted at the UO today!
  20. I am applying to UO, which is only ranked 45th. It's still pretty competitive though. I know since they dropped their Application Essay many more people are applying this year. Though it makes me wonder about the quality of the applicants...
  21. Thank you so much! <3
  22. Thanks for asking. My husband and I have a child together, and I am simply not willing to take my son away from his father while I go to school. While my education is important my family comes first. So my plan if I don't get in is to work as an assistant for a year and reapply. I might also be able to continue assisting my professors on the grant/research work as well.
  23. Thanks ballerina! Here's hoping! I talked to my advisor yesterday at UO and she told me they have pretty much finalized everything and just need to send the info over to the secretary to send out! Nervous!
