  1. I definitely am. She has been so lovely and seems so passionate about her project. It must be so hard to have to worry about this on top of the general Fulbright stress. Good luck to all of the Ukraine and Russia applicants . P.S. Sorry about the weird font. I was doing Japanese homework and didn't noticed I forgot to change the input function.
  2. With Fulbright on my mind and thesis out of the way, it is so hard to concentrate on my other classes.

  3. I've been wondering about that. everyone on the forum keeps saying that SSA sent out notification, but I haven't seen very many people post anything.
  4. Some people turn it down. I know some that turned down an Egypt ETA last year because she got the Soros and since she had high financial need she knew she couldn't give up the opportunity since law school isn't funded.
  5. Congratulations to everyone that heard good news from Colombia today!
  6. If SSA announce today, good luck everyone (esp. Mozartgirl--She is way to cool/sweet/dedicated not to get it)! Fingers (and maybe even toes) crossed!
  7. Agreed! Also, here's hoping that tomorrow is nothing but very many notifications of good news!
  8. Yes! My FPA told us that the most important thing we had to emphasize was out teaching/tutoring experience.
  9. To everyone still waiting, I know it sucks. But it's just a while longer. Think about this way, everyday that passes means one more day closer to the notification rather than one day of more waiting. It's because patience is hard that it is a virtue. Remember, those of us that already heard back are rooting for you! Best, GE
  10. I just saw this on Buzzfeed--a gift for the other Korea ETA's: A Photojournal in which Fulbright ETA's asked their student to write signs expressing their thoughts. http://www.buzzfeed.com/kevintang/photo-project-korean-students-speak-their-mind
  11. Doesn't seem like today is a big day for notifications...disappointing! Good luck to all still waiting.
  12. Secret_Ninja, I understand your stress. The medical clearance form is stressing me out since I go to school ~1,500 miles from home (aka. where my primary care physician is). When i told my mom I had to take care of it in six weeks, she freaked out! Luckily my college's health center can do the clearance since they have my immunization history and are used to doing Fulbright clearances every year. Oh! Okay, that makes (some) sense.
  13. Why would an email asking if you were graduating have Fulbright on the subject line?
  14. Actually, I did too.
  15. Congratulations on Moldova!
  16. Relax! I am sure this is stressful, but you got back to them right away. I doubt that Fulbright would penalize you for someone else's mistake. Additionally, what I think this points out is just how far behind the State Department is since they said they would notify us of missing transcripts quickly after the February deadline. Just relax, you did what they asked and now you need to go on with your life as normal (except maybe just prepare for an even more prolonged wait). Mozartgirl53, I think you'll get if and if you don't it will be Fulbright's loss, not yours. If worse comes to worse, there are other funding opportunities. I believe in both your project and your passion and I am sure most of the other people on this forum do as well. If I had the money, I'd probably create a fellowship just for your project (and Oliowoo's).
  17. Hahahaha! I'm sure that your GIF would be awesome. Mozartgirl53, you are definitely one of my favorite people on this forum. You are so sweet! You better get the Fulbright because your project in Zambia sounds awesome. I'd be so upset if you didn't get it--like I was for kbui.
  18. Since it is officially Thursday already (at least in the East Coast), here is hoping that the 17th brings a lot of good news for all of you still waiting. Fingers crossed!
  19. Congrats Matt! It sounds like you have some awesome options. If you do decide to do Fulbright, it'll be a pleasure to meet you.
  20. Today was such a great day! Not only did I defend my thesis, but I GOT FULBRIGHT!

  21. IT WAS A (P)!!! Omo! OMG! Omo! I am so excited and my parents sounded so happy when I told them over the phone (even though they are sad I'll be so far from home). I was convinced that I was going to be an alternate, so I can't even. Actually, I didn't even see the email from Fulbright because my fellowship office had sent me like three congratulatory emails right after they found out as well. I can't wait to meet all of the other Korea ETAs. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ On another note, I really want to congratulate everyone that got recommended even if you didn't get it. I have been amazed to see all the people on this forum and was doubting myself because you all seem so smart and accomplished
  22. I am too. I wonder why the State Department is so backed up. Could it really just be because of the shutdown? Wouldn't there part in the process have started way after? Oh well... At least now we are getting multiple notifications a day...
  23. This waiting is killing me. My friends keep asking me about Fulbright and I have no idea what to say. They know people who applied to Japan and Taiwan and now that both countries have notified, they are sure Korea already did and I just missed it because it went to spam. Ugh... I hate not knowing. It's actually kinda funny that it has been two weeks since someone posted that they had reliable info that the announcement would be the next day. Oh well! Let the wait continue.
  24. Congratulations to everyone that got good news today! Hopefully we wannabe-waegukins fins out tomorrow--Tuesdays are have been big days for SK in the past.
