  1. Ah okay, makes a lot more sense...thank you for your responses!
  2. Can someone explain the April 15th deadline? I'm just confused because in my acceptance offer I was told I have until May 1st to let them know... I plan to wait a while because I'm on wait-list for one of my other programs, and am holding out hope for it.
  3. Cheers fellow Lumberjack! Must make the school proud!
  4. This is great information...thank you. My current full-time position is practically library-like...help a customer when they come in when it's your turn (rotate between us sales people)...it's quiet..I sit at my own desk, have been refreshing my inbox every 10 minutes...can read a book and surf this site...so if I am able to transfer to another store close to my school, I think I could make it work.
  5. Wonderful and very much appreciated advice! Thank you!
  6. Apologies if this conversation topic has already been brought up, but I would like to know if it's feasible to work while attending grad school?
  7. Just got accepted to Illinois State University's Historical Archaeology program!!
  8. Wait-Listed at UMAss-Boston, please let them know asap so I have a shot!

  9. Can anyone explain what the wait-list is like? How often have you been put on it and how often have you been offered a spot in their program?
  10. Update on William and Mary: I just spoke with the administrative assistant there and she said they are crafting the letters now and that's normally how they notify people...however, I emailed them myself asking cause I can't wait for a letter. My mailing address is my permanent residence down in Phoenix and I live two hours away in Flagstaff and I told my parents not to open anything until I could...so I prefer email and she said they MAY be emailing people as well since it's late in the game. Update on University of Massachusetts-Boston: They are on spring break. (oh geez, thanks for making us wait while you take a breather from it all).
  11. Waitlisted at Ilinois State...Please, let them know if you're not interested!

  12. Now Professor Kellner teaches Bio Anth...however, she is taking a sabbatical to focus on her Peruvian studies.
  13. waiting...waiting...want some emails!

  14. Full of hippies and other interesting folk! I'm a Phoenix native...last winter was the first time I ever saw snow falling from the sky ... Not going to lie though...ready to move onto the next adventure. When did you graduate? What was your favorite class? Professor?
  15. agreed...next two weeks will be full of anxiety.
  16. Update: Spoke with one of the youngins in the department at West Florida and she let me know that they are still making decisions...sheesh! Emailed the other three. Keep you all posted.
  17. This is good to hear because I just emailed one of them and received an automatic email saying he was away until Wednesday...le sigh. I'll go ahead and attempt contact with the others. Congrats Justin! I received my first degree in journalism from ASU...I refuse to go to Tucson haha...love it up here in the woods! We're really expanding right now, but as most say about NAU...when is not under construction!?
  18. Hi Sage, I'm in the same position as you and it's kind of a comforting relief. I love history and archaeology, was ecstatic that there was such a field out there for it. I applied to four programs. This is my first time applying to grad school. I made contact with three professors...so 3/4 programs...and had good conversations with each that looked promising. In my SOP I made sure to let them know of my areas of interest and how I felt their program would really allow me to find my specific niche because again, I love history, ALL OF IT, so it's hard to just pick one area. So we shall see. Best of luck to you!
  19. I'm still waiting to hear back from: University of Massachusetts-Boston William and Mary Illinois State University of West-Florida... Anyone else hear from them? I know xstopfloating got accepted to U-Mass...I was wondering if you were recruited or something because the admissions director emailed me late Feb saying they were hoping to make their final decisions that week or next...just curious.
  20. I know I'm jumping the gun here because people are starting to receive word in abundance now, however, my question is: can/should I email the admissions director and ask if their letters/emails are being sent out? I've perused some of the forums here and results search section and have seen a couple people hear back from programs I've applied to and I have yet to receive word. Oddly, one of the people who got accepted to one of the programs I applied to heard back in early February, and yet, I received an email from the admissions director in late February (24th) inquiring about potentially misplacing my GRE scores and noting "We hope to make decisions in the next week or two" ... But I haven't heard or received anything since then? What is the protocol on this...when you know ppl are hearing back but you haven't? Then again, I haven't seen much of anything else from any of the programs I've applied to thus far. This is my first time applying to grad school so bear with me here. I appreciate any words of wisdom and advice!
