Anyone applying to POLS know if decisions are coming out today? Based on previous years (not too many data points, to be honest), it seems that it's either today, next Tuesday, or next Friday.
-
Does that mean you're considering HGSE to be your first choice
-
constantly. already started looking up backup plans because i'm accepting defeat. better to be realistic, right?
-
I had to call HGSE this morning for some financial aid stuff and, because I had them on the phone anyway, i asked when they would release decisions, and they said by the end of march, but possibly earlier. Hopefully it aligns with what you said rather than the end of march. not sure I can handle that long of a wait.

lmao, i seriously lost all feeling in my hands and my face when I saw it.

partially freaking out and thinking that some results might come out today about the Ed Policy masters. applied on 1/12/16. @Heather1011 This was about how long it took you to hear back as well, right?

Basically rethinking my entire application...

Hi there, No, I haven't heard back yet. I'm really confused about the interview process. When I looked online, it said that the only applicants that were going to be interviewed were ones that were doing the Executive MPA. Is that what you're doing? -
I'm a little confused as to how to SHIPS/POLS relationship works. Is that a dual degree or how does it work?
-
Was that for PhD interviews or for all SGSE admissions?
-
Hi all! I haven't seen much about anyone applying to the Stanford POLS program, so I thought I'd start a new thread. Please introduce yourselves!
-
Hey y'all! I called to find out when POLS decisions would be released and was told that it would be the beginning of March. Anyone know what their acceptance rate is?
-
Is that for all GSE programs or just SHIPS?
-
Do you mean the ones that had character counts? If so, mine were right at the limits.
-
are there decisions coming out today? I've seen some ones come through on the results page.
-
Congratulations!!!!!!!!! So exciting!!!!! Would you mind me asking when you applied?
-
Question: does anyone know what the acceptance rate for their masters program is? Specifically, Ed Policy.

Thank you so much for your insight! -
I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but you could probably use those 4 classes to cross-register either at another school in Harvard or MIT or Tufts as well (I think). For Harvard, I found this link that may be helpful: http://artsandhumanities.fas.harvard.edu/book/foreign-languages-offered-harvard

Congratulations on your acceptance!!! That's really exciting. Do you mind me asking when you applied to Penn? I applied two weeks ago and I'm curious about their turnaround time. -

Thanks I'm getting really nervous because I feel like I was kidding myself when I applied. I just want to know already! -
For one of my other schools that I'm applying to, they had mentioned that emails like that don't mean anything good or bad. From what they made it seem like, it's a few people just going through people's applications to make sure that everything is complete before the review begins. WHEN the application is complete doesn't have much to do whether you're going to get accepted or not. Hope that helps! Don't worry, I'm sure everything is okay!!!
-
I got the same email! No to financial information. At least it means they're looking at our application now!

I'm applying for the following programs: HGSE: Masters in Ed Policy & Management HKS: MPP, Urban Policy UPenn GSE: Master, Ed Policy UPenn Fels: MPA Stanford POLS : Masters -
Loooooong time education forum lurker here and I'm reaching out for some advice. When I was going through the application process, I was pretty optimistic. I knew that my stats were borderline, but I had a feeling that if I just stayed positive and wrote a bad-ass application, maybe it would work out. I'm starting to rethink everything now. Here are my stats: Undergrad: Public University Major: Accounting GPA: 3.1 (hated what I was studying, didn't realize it until I graduated), LOTS of campus leadership and 4+ accounting internships at Fortune 50 company. GRE: 157V/161Q/5AWA -> 75%V/81%Q/93%AWA Work Experience: 4+ years, Big 4 Accounting Firm, Teach for America (promoted twice in two years), Ed Pioneers Fellow Volunteer Experience: STEM Mentor for high school students and Literacy non-profit Associate Board. SOP: I'm naturally a bit biased, but I think it's quite strong. My goals are clearly defined and I did a lot of research on which professors I'd like to work with and related it to my goals quite clearly. Letter of Rec: Dean of Instruction, Dean of Students, School Director Schools applied to: HGSE, HKS, UPenn GSE, UPenn Fels, Stanford POLS I kind of need a reality check. Do I have a shot at all? Or should I just stop getting my hopes up and start looking for what I'll be doing after my fellowship ends? (Not trying to be dramatic, I just really want to know).
