  1. Do you remember what USU said about GRE? I have tried to do the same thing as you, and I'm typically very OCD about organizing things, but CSDCAS has only complicated the application process for me when it's meant to simplify it. What a nightmare that has been! I can't remember who has what at this point.
  2. Is one of them from JU perhaps?
  3. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with the problem. I'm having trouble since I did my pre-requisite coursework online. Out of 11 different courses, each taught by someone different, only 3 agreed to write me an LOR. And I had a 95% and above in every course! I work from home and travel a lot. For the summer I was on the road, traveling from the east to west coast. For the Fall, I was in South Africa, scrambling to get things submitted on time, sometimes hitchhiking or walking 10 miles and back because the internet was so spotty. If that doesn't indicate enough dedication. I swear, if you're too hesitant to write your best students an LOR because you don't know them that well personally, the ones who are also paying your salary, then don't teach an online class! I hope everyone gets all their materials in on time or at least gets an application refund from the referee who is slacking! Seriously.
  4. I've already begun the application process of course and paid for transcripts to be sent and application fees. I suppose the next step would be to see if I can defer my application if there's no way to improve these scores before final deadlines. One thing I've thought though is that maybe my scores will be good enough to get wait-listed, and in the meantime I can retake and then forward my new improved scores. Does anyone have any experience with that tactic? I suppose people who are successfully pursuing their graduate studies aren't monitoring these forums anymore, but maybe someone has some experience. I'm pretty sure I froze during the math section today, and I know I can do much better because I had a near perfect SAT score. That was over 10 years ago, and this stuff is not at all like riding a bike as I thought it would be. Good luck everyone over the next few days and then months.
  5. Look again, I still see the opposite of what you're seeing. For CSU-LA GRE: Verbal reasoning: 144-166 Quantitative reasoning: 140-162 Analytical writing: 3.5-5.5
  6. Hi everyone, Does anyone know if the GPA and GRE stats listed on EdFind are those of the range of applicants or those who are offered admission? Has anyone enquired about this before? At first glance, you would think it's what the University has admitted, but then again this isn't specified anywhere out there that I can find. My GRE scores today were 148 Quant and 160 Verbal. Both are way below what I'd achieved on practice tests. So I'm wondering which schools are worth the cost of applying to. Has anyone looked into this? Thanks everyone and Cheers!
  7. Jacksonville is an awesome place to live? Hahahahaha. I've never heard anything so funny and untrue in my life!
  8. Nexus 7 is better than any iPad
  9. No, Spring admissions should be kept a secret. That's how you get less competitive schools. No brainer. Erase this thread! Duh! + - 0 Quote MultiQuote Hide Edit

  11. I disagree with everything this b*tch is saying. You should too.
  12. Both the graduate and undergraduate program are new, so I don't think they would show any preferential treatment. Also, I attended an Open House, and there were about 50 eager women there and 1 or 2 males. They plan to admit about 30. So chances are, it's still competitive.
  13. Yay! Glad you got in after that enigmatic rejection from Montana!
  14. Twinguy that's awesome. I'm very happy for you. Ive had my fingers crossed for you! Such great news!
  15. OMG WHAT DID IT SAY? Send them a nasty thanks I hope!
  16. Yea, I personally think that is best. For one, you will have 1 transcript with all of your coursework. The cost of transcripts alone will double which is something to think about when it comes time to apply to schools. It's best not to put your eggs all in one basket. I myself have 6 different transcripts, a course here a course there. That'll be roughly $600 in transcripts applying to 10 schools. This process is ridiculous. They verify everything online anyway, so I don't get why they need hard copies.
  17. Did they make any other comment as to whether other pre-reqs would be accepted?
  18. Congratulations on your funding!! That's great that your hard work throughout undergrad paid off and that your GRE scores didn't preclude you from funding! That's awesome!
  19. Wow, I found it now. Ouch, that is brutal. Maybe someone who's taken courses through UF who gets admitted to UCF will be able to share their experiences. I think UCF is unique in this regard, though. It seems most programs don't care where you completed the pre-reqs.
  20. Where do you have that information? I believe you, but I don't see what you see. So do they just have more pre-reqs (I see they have labs), or will they not accept any of the courses from other universities?
  21. Yea, if you want to see that in writing, it's also listed under their FAQ here: http://slhs.phhp.ufl.edu/academics/dl/ug/frequently-asked-questions/ "There are no advantages to earning a second bachelor’s degree (60 hours) over completing the prerequisites for graduate admission (27 hours). If you are interested in becoming a Speech Language Pathologist or Audiologist, you must earn an advanced degree to practice. Completing a second bachelor’s degree (and the additional elective courses that go with it) prior to application to graduate school will take twice as long and double your cost without offering you a competitive advantage for admission to graduate school. The following items are weighted heavily by the UF admissions committee when making their admission decisions: GRE score; grades in prerequisite courses; volunteer activities in the field; and letters of recommendation from professors in the prerequisite courses." Of course that is just UF, and every uni views it differently.
  22. I refused to apply to any school requiring two transcripts. That seems ridiculous given the cost.
  23. I recommend reading and watching "Temple Grandin." What an incredible woman.
