I got the 3 week notification that transcripts were not received. I resent them, got proof from fedex that the transcripts are in UTD's hands, and every time I call, the register says they "need more time" to "process" them. It's been 6 weeks, are they hand copying them in calligraphy?
My application is also under review, but I do not see how they are reviewing it without transcripts.
-
The registrar needs to get their act together. I submitted my documents 6 weeks before the deadline and there is no sign of them.
-
Now they are 3 weeks behind? Last I called they were 2...
-
I hear UTD is rolling, but it has been 6 weeks and they still have not processed my application. I hope everything is alright.

The optimist in me is saying that I am not outright rejected; they're just scheduling interviews for their top students first, and if there is space available, they'll schedule one for me.
-
I haven't either. I've been checking constantly all week. I just wish they would update something on the portal, even if it is rejected. Best of luck to you.
I feel the same way! I hope you receive good news!

Who else still has not gotten an interview yet? I'm trying to breathe and hoping that I'll get one tomorrow...

My situation was similar. I had taken courses at a community college and their classes included letters in the course number that I didn't know I had to include (ex: ENG101 was ENGB101). It was a very quick fix and I was told on the phone that they should be fixing it right away. When this happened to you was your complete date drastically changed as well?
As I remember, the complete date stayed the same, but the verified date was delayed (since I noticed the problem early, they were able to complete verification on the same day, though).

I am so stressed out...the registrar STILL has not found my transcripts. I understand that they are extremely busy, but it should not take 2 tries and 6 weeks.
-
I had an error in which I mistyped some course names, but once I rectified it, they verified me on the same day. The CSDCAS people said that they would put me in the front of the line once I resubmitted.
-
I think they also focus on extracurriculars and the whole applicant.
-
Do they email you, or does it only show up on your portal, when you get an interview request?
-
I think that the only way for the admissions shortage to be solved is to provide more opportunities for faculty positions (without taking pay cuts, as they would now). With more professors, programs would be allowed to expand.

I have been around people from other cultures - I am from one myself. People from L2 backgrounds must be more cognizant of how they talk and are perceived by others. Given that we are going into a career path in which we must teach effective communication, it is something that is very important. And I would not expect employers to accept your excuse (as that is what it is) for lack of tact - and research corroborates this (see Lippi-Green for some examples - the teacher in me wants you to look them up yourself!)
As your posts have been significantly edited (and among other reasons), I have begun to suspect that you are a troll. So I am out. Have a good night, and best of luck on applications, if you have actually submitted any.

As I said before, nontraditional students may not have the luxury of packing up and moving. If I had kids or a full time job, I would have to apply to schools within commuting distance, and unless you're in a major metro area, there are not that many.
I hope you will not use the Nordic excuse on your clients.

While I would never apply to just one school, I am grateful that I happen to be single and have the funds available to relocate and study full time. If I had a family or was tied down due to a job, I would have to apply to one school (the nearest SLP school is 30 mins away, the second closest is 1 hr, more in traffic).

Do you think location matters? There is no way that I can get to Boston since I live on the west coast, so they would have to do a less advantageous Skype interview with me. Are they scheduling interviews with those who live near Boston first?

I submitted Dec 1st, and Emerson received my materials Dec 9th except for one LOR which they received Jan 5th. So I submitted early, but my application wasn't 'complete' until the deadline, technically, so I have no idea if they looked at my materials before that or not.
Was that LOR one of the 3 required? If it's an extra, it should not matter…
-
whoever got an interview intimation - did you apply through the Emerson website or through CSDCAS?
From what I've read, they process CSDCAS slightly later than the direct applications, I hope that's why we've not yet heard.
This makes sense! I can now breathe slightly easier.

Also, does anyone know what exactly a modified rolling admission system is?
-
I submitted mine early but have a low GPA...I'm trying to stay calm and realize that the fact I have no interview doesn't necessarily mean I am rejected!
-
My portal won't even load. It's apparently down for maintenance. Of all the days to go down, it had to be the day that they start sending out interview decisions?
-
I got the 3 week notice that my transcripts haven't arrived, so I just FedExed them.
It's like the postal service is against me lol
-
I'm sorry to hear that! I did everything through CSDCAS, so no bad experiences!
Any benefit to having your Bachelor's and Master's from different schools?

I have heard that academics need their bachelor's and PhD from different schools in order to show that they have worked with a diverse range of people and ideas. For pure clinical work, it likely would not matter one bit.
