  1. I am also out of field. I have a BA in psych and I'm in the process of taking my prereqs now. I had four classes complete when I applied and was in the process of taking two more. I got rejected waitlisted and accepted at the three schools i applied to. I was surprised because I thought my stats were pretty good. I asked my current professor about it and she said that most schools base their decisions mainly on numbers. I think this has been a really competitive year. I know my GPA is not is high as others so I'm guessing that's why I got waitlisted and rejected.
  2. I was accepted to ISU's online program but it is so expensive that I'm not sure I would be able to attend. I'm hoping to be accepted off the waitlist at the University of Northern Colorado. If I don't get in there, I'm not sure if I should wait and reapply next year or just go to ISU and take out $50000 in loans. The other thing is that Norhtern Colorado only accepts a cohort every other year. So I would have to branch out and apply to programs farther away. what would you all do?
  3. Thanks! Montana's distance program is more competitive than you might think because there are only a handful of spots. But it does feel good to get accepted at ISU after a waitlist and a rejection.
  4. You just need one of these: http://www.amazon.com/The-WineRack-200-008-Wine-Medium/dp/B001FYZZI2
  5. Our stats are very similar. My last 60 gpa is a little higher too. 3.8-3.9 somewhere in there, 4.0 in CSD but I had only completed a few prereqs at the time of my application. I have about 2.5 year experience working as a case manager and program coordinator for ebd children. That gives me hope that i'm high up on the waiting list!
  6. Congrats! isn't it so great to just get one acceptance? It makes a world of difference. Good luck to all those still waiting. Remember it's not over until august!
  7. Do you mind if I ask your stats? I got waitlisted at UNC and I'm dying to know if it's because of my stats or what? My GPA isn't the highest but it's not that low either.
  8. Dang all three! well best of luck and congrats on your other acceptance!
  9. Good luck to you too ballerina18! I'm still hoping to get into UNC. It does feel good to get in somewhere though!
  10. Good luck to you twinguy7! Did you apply for the distance program or Pocatello?
  11. I think my biggest mistake was asking my professor from my leveling coursework to write a rec. The courses are online, so she really doesn't know me personally. Also the first two semesters were not my best. I got a's but I had been out of school for 7 years and now have two small children, so I struggled at first to juggle it all. So that professor probably doesn't have a a whole lot to say about my character but could comment on some of the mistakes I made early on. Let me ask you guys if this is crazy. SInce applying, I have been doing really well in my leveling courses. I feel like i've finally got it the hang of juggling all my responsibilities. My grades are nearly perfect, two points away. I've made every class and handed in my work ahead of schedule every week. Would it be crazy to ask my professor to send UNC a note commenting on my performance this semester?
  12. I know, right? I was pretty confident about getting in to school, but have not gotten one offer yet. I'm trying to figure out where I went wrong. I'm wondering if one of my professors gave a less than glowing recommendation. I might not have put enough work into my personal statement. I'm not a strong writer so I know it could have been better. I'll admit that I thought I could rely on my stats to get me in and I should have worried about other parts of my application more.
  13. Luckily for me I emailed them about wrgp when I was applying and they told me about the professional fees when they responded. I'm not sure if it makes the program too expensive for me or not. It more than doubles the cost. Also it's so much more than alot of the other professional fees
  14. I thought i would share this is since it wasn't obvious to me when I applied to Idaho state. If you applied to the online program there is a $424 per credit fee even if you get in-state tuition. I applied there because I could get resident tuition rates even though i live out of state, but with this fee the cost of the program will be close to $50,000. I didn't think they were very up front about that on their website. Unfortunately this is the only school I haven't heard back from yet and I have one rejection and one waitlist. If I get accepted it will be really hard to decide if I should just go....
  15. Just rejected from Montana but it's honestly better than not knowing
  16. Has anyone heard from the University of Montana? They said the decisions would be out by today but I've heard nothing. If I get another email from them extending the deadline, i'm just going to cry!
  17. I used this book http://www.amazon.com/Kaplan-Premier-2014-Practice-Tests/dp/1609789369 It includes many online practice tests, strategies for each section, and a list of the 150 most common vocab words. My scores were v168 q158 aw4.5. This book was definitely the reason I did as well as I did.
  18. I just got waitlisted for UNCO's online program. Because of where I live and my inability to move, this is really the only program that would work for me. I guess I'm wondering if anyone has any insight into my chances of being accepted off the wait list. My stats are: out of field BA in psych Currently working on prereqs at WKU online 4.0 so far 4.0 in science in math classes 3.67 cumulative CSDCAS GPA 168 verbal 158 quantitative 4.5 AW two very strong lor's one may be weak but not bad my personal statement was probably not great as I'm not the best writer but I know it was free of grammar and spelling errors. So my questions are, what do you guys think of my stats? Do i stand a chance? Does anyone know a little more about how wait lists work? Do they absolutely accept people off the wait list or just maybe? Also what can I do to strengthen my chances for next year? is there a certificate program that is recommended?
  19. Hi I've been lurking and thought I would comment on the UNCO online comments. I just got waitlisted for the online program via email but my portal status did not change. Seems like they're letting people know.
