  1. So sorry to hear that. Bet it doesn't sting as much when you have a couple options to fall back on. Are you waiting on the distance program through ENMU?
  2. mheroux92 - I'm surprised you've had no luck, your stats are pretty good! have you heard from your other two waitlists? or just Layola?
  3. Yesterday I got a really bad haircut. I had a great Jennifer Lawrence/ Anne Hathaway pixie that I was in love with. I went in and asked for a trim and she gave me a charlize theron/ Halle berry. Super short, gonna takes months to grow out to the fairly short cut I had before. I was literally crying to my best friend when I got an email that I was accepted off the waitlist at my top choice.
  4. They also have this rolling tote which would be a more stylish option for people looking for a rolling bag http://www.baggallini.com/product/Rolling-Tote/Baggallini-Luggage-Travel
  5. I have worked in two luggage/bag/travel stores and this brand has always been a favorite of mine: http://www.baggallini.com/category/Baggallini-Totes They are very durable but also lightweight and the organization is AMAZING! Alot of them have tablet pockets too.
  6. I emailed Constance but heard back from Dr Fahey.
  7. I did email them on friday and they emailed back on saturday offering me a spot. I'm not sure if it was just a coincidence or what. I like to think that they were on the fence and my continued interest is what tipped the scaled in my favor!
  8. I got into to Northern Colorado! That's one more spot opening up at ISU!
  9. I have accepting my spot at ISU, and I still plan on going if I don't get in to Northern Colorado. But I do still have reservations. The cost is so high. Finding housing might be difficult, but i'm not that worried about that. I have two small children who will be 3 and 5 during the clinical. So they would have to be in daycare, either with me in Idaho or at home with their dad. I was hoping that their grandparents would be able to come out to help care for them for a good portion of it but they just visited us and could barely keep up with them for a morning, definitely not able to watch them all day everyday for eight weeks. I know some people will think this is silly but that summer is my daughter's last summer before kindergarten. I've stayed home with her since birth so the idea of missing out on (either because she's in daycare or home with her dad) my last summer as her full-time mom totally breaks my heart. It's definitely not hte only thing keeping me from going but it's not helping. It's certainly not impossible, but i feel like I would be asking so much of everyone in my family. It just doesn't feel like the best fit for me.
  10. Okay so should I email and ask for an update? Just to know approximately how long I should expect to wait. Is that annoying?
  11. I just wish the schools would give us some clue about where we stand. Do they have a full class at this point? Are they still filling spots? I know they'll probably email us when they have a full class, so no news is good news. But I am just dying to know something!
  12. I feel like I kept it cool until 4/15 but once 4/16 arrived I kinda lost my mind. I've accepted at ISU but, logistically speaking, I'm not sure I can attend. They have an 8 week clinical on campus in the summer and I just don't know how I would complete that. I would be asking alot of everyone in my family. Colorado would work so much better for me.
  13. Who else is still waiting on a waitlist, official or unofficial? I'm on the waitlist at the University of Northern Colorado and really hoping to get off. I haven't heard a peep since being waitlisted and I'm feeling so anxious about it. I try to remind myself that not hearing is better than being rejected, but my obsession with the results page has really ramped up this week. Anyone else feel like they just can't take anymore waiting?
  14. The other thing I would suggest is reading from places like the new york times frequently. Not just the news but also reviews, op-eds, etc. I found the book reviews to be particularly good practice. I think most of get our information in little blurbs here and there and don't get a ton of practice reading dense material anymore (esp. if you are not currently in school). The reading practice helped alot
  15. http://www.amazon.com/Kaplan-Premier-2014-Practice-Tests/dp/1609789369/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1398294069&sr=8-1&keywords=kaplan+gre+prep+book I used this book and it was a huge help. The price includes online access to several practice tests. I did much better on the actual test than I did on the practice ones, so I felt like they were good preparation. The best part of the book is a list of the 150 most common vocabulary words. If you memorize those you'll be golden. That would be the first thing I would do. I only reviewed the math portion for a couple of days and still did well, but I was always a strong math student. If you spend a month studying in this book a few times a week, you should do well.
  16. Sorry I forgot the link. http://www.uwec.edu/CSD/grad/online-graduate-program-in-speech-language-pathology.htm
  17. Have you looked into this program? I don't know if it would work for you, but I'm considering applying just because ISU is so expensive. I know you're limited to distance programs too.
  18. Hang in there! I haven't heard a peep from Northern Colorado and it doesn't seem like they've sent out a second round of acceptances yet. I don't think Idaho State is done yet either.
  19. I am still waiting hoping to get off the waitlist at University of Northern Colorado. Now that April 15th has come and gone, the waiting is really driving me crazy. To make matters worse, based on the results page, UNC ADDED two people to the waitlist after 4/15! What does that mean? Have they seriously not gone through all the applications yet?
  20. Oh my goodness, I know what you mean! I am hoping to get off the waitlist at Northern Colorado. For google chrome users, you know how a new window shows the most frequent webpages? my top two are my email and gradcafe. The internet is such a blessing and a curse. Yesterday someone posted on the results page that they were added to the waitlist for Northern Colorado and I completely freaked out trying to determine what it meant.
  21. I'm waiting too. I'm on an unranked waitlist at the University of Northern Colorado, which is definitely my first choice. Waiting is the worst!I just wish I knew a little bit more about the likelihood of being accepted. I emailed to ask how big the waitlist was and how many they have accepted in years past and they emailed back saying they couldn't say. Now that April 15th is actually here I feel like my head is going to explode.
  22. Western Kentucky University offers a Bases of Speech course. Not sure if that's the same thing.
  23. Yay! how are you going to decide with all these choices?
