I have an interview next week with U. of Alberta comp lit!!! It's one of my top choices!! I'm so nervous! Excited! Kind of shocked! AHH! 

I can, at the very least, play Rachmaninoff like no other. Plan B in motion.

Not to overpost here but...that moment when you see an acceptance from your top choice program on the Results page and you've not received any emails yet from the school. Crippling anxiety is back, full on...

Sorry for my uncharacteristically emo-esque posts earlier, folks. It seems that implied rejections for me a.) come in bunches, and b.) send me into an acute spiral of despair for a few hours. It's like drunk posting, but without the whimsy!
 
Anyhow, after a long chat with my advisor earlier, I'm feeling more upbeat. Still a little glum, but I'm trying to mentally adjust to the possibility of resorting to a plan B. I've never been much of a plan B kinda guy, and in my heart of hearts I never thought I would have to give serious thought to a plan B for this either...but so long as I can overcome the emotional toll of a complete shutout this year (and I have to remember that I still have eleven cords holding me above the snake pit...), I think I can rationally prepare for alternate options.
 
Part of me is tempted to take a GC hiatus, but more of me wants to fully go through the experience...which includes the joy of seeing some people I now consider friends get accepted to great places. I'll try to avoid posting in my more downtrodden moments, however.

P.P.S.: For what it's worth, I'm treating any mass acceptance wave that doesn't include me in its ranks as an "implied rejection." It may be an erroneous assumption, but it's an erroneous assumption I'll be more than happy to have corrected!

I woke up to the news that I've been accepted to King's College London! I am in complete shock! I never ever thought I would receive this offer! I am literally in tears, I am so surprised.

Omg. Totally in shock. Got my first acceptance from UCR with Dean's Distinguished Fellowship. I'm so relieved I'm shaking. I thought all the acceptances had gone out over the weekend. I hope others get their email today or soon too!

Well folks...thus begins another week!

I just got an informal acceptance from my POI at UCLA. I thought for sure I was out because others received official letters, but it looks like acceptances are rolling out over a couple days--including the weekend! Thought it would be nice to update people who are still waiting. Good luck all!

Not an English applicant, but you guys, just got my first acceptance to UCLA! National lit department. Had a good, happy cry in my apartment. Here's wishing good news to all!

UCLA decisions are out you guys! My first acceptance of the season. Very excited as they are one of my top choices!

I'm out of upvotes for the day already, but thanks everyone---GC is the greatest!!! The acceptance means so much to me because I'm no spring chicken and I don't have a lit/language degree---just an intense interest and some coursework. Incredibly grateful, humbled, excited, etc.
