That's a good point. Thanks. Makes me feel slightly less bad, but I think I still would've risked the new program at UCSD over an acceptance from UC Irvine, where I applied instead. But since UC Berkeley and Stanford are destined to accept me it won't matter anyways right?

So bummed. Just found out UCSD has a marketing PhD that began last year. I would have definitely applied there if I had known. I wonder how inaccurate the AMA's list is now. That's where I got my list to begin researching programs. Well, hey... if I end up getting rejected everywhere, i can add that school to next year's list I suppose. But here's to hoping that doesn't happen!

I don't know about you all, but this waiting is tough! And it seems like there are no responses from schools that had responded by this time last year. Anybody lese noticing that? Or do you think people are just not posting results as much as they did last year?

I had a phone interview this morning. Obviously i thanked them for their time during the conversation and for the opportunity. What is the appropriate etiquette regarding thank you follow ups? Should I write a follow up thank you email following the phone call or is that overkill?

Has anyone who is applying to Marketing PhDs heard from any schools? If so, which one(s)? I know its early, but figured I'd check.

I'm planning a two month trip through Southeast Asia with my girlfriend whether or not I get in. If I get in, it'll be celebratory. If not, it'll be my consolation.

No nightmares, but it does take me a good 2-3 hours every night to fall asleep now as my anxiety gets me and my mind races. It is going to be a long winter.

Your story actually sounds incredibly similar to mine. I had a 3.92 GPA, 4.0 in my major, summa cum laude, phi beta kappa, valedicatorian nominee (yeah, they nominate people and then make people give speeches in front of a panel). Studied abroad in Spain, great GMAT (99%), 2 good LORS, 1 awesome LOR and 4 years unrelated, but great work experience.

That's awesome and I agree. not sure why it makes you feel better to know other people are anxious, depressed and frustrated as well. But I suppose misery loves company! Cheers to the grad cafe!

I actually hadn't seen this forum before, but I'm glad I did. I feel like there are no business applicants on here. I applied to 11 places for Marketing and haven't heard anything back. I know I have a long way to go, but the suspense is still killing me!!!

Applied to 11 schools. Now wishing I applied to about 20. Depending on the day this number changes, but I predict: Good shot at 1 A big 50/50 at 4 If I'm lucky at 4 With a hope and a prayer (and I'm not religious so that's going to be tough) at 2 If even one of those has funding, I'll be happy. But this waiting sucks! Why can't it be February???
