  1. If I were you, SLPsara, I would call the department to ask if a statement of purpose is required for application to the post bacc program. I didn't write one and got in. Some of my professors in undergrad highly recommended that program to me. One of them told me that in her opinion, it's the best SLP post bacc program in California.
  2. CSULA doesn't require an essay for the post bacc program, last I heard. They say to just write in the box that it's not required by the department. Even if you wrote one, I don't think they would read it. They also don't accept letters of rec. They literally only care about GPA. The department will tell you that. I don't think you'll have a problem getting in with a 3.7. I think they just admit the highest 60 GPAs or so. I think they usually admit people below 3.2.
  3. I didn't answer a question on the results page because I couldn't edit the results after I posted them, and I didn't want to repost because it would misrepresent the actual data. Forums are the best way to ask and respond to questions. When I posted results, there was also a notice saying that "wordy posts" often get deleted.
  4. Did you get an interview for CSULB? Do you know when are they holding interviews? Thanks!
  5. I'm moving to Westwood to live with my fiance who goes to UCLA! It is a really nice, cute neighborhood with neat restaurants, movie theaters, and other stuff all in walking distance. The rent is expensive relative to neighborhoods to the south and east. It's a thirty minute drive to CSULA. Sorry this might not be very helpful to you if you're trying to live closer to campus. But if for some reason you end up living in West LA, let me know because I'll be looking for a carpool buddy! Same to everyone else!
  6. If you are concerned about whether or not your transcripts have been received you can call the admissions office with your CIN ready at (323) 343-3901. They will be able to tell you if they were received or not. This is different from the Department of Communication Disorders! Marcie is the receptionist for the department (not admissions) and she will not be able to tell you if your transcripts were received, but she can tell you if you are on the list of applicants. Hope this helps!
  7. Congratulations! I got it too! So excited because it was the only program I applied to. Will we be able to do a one year masters program after the post bacc?
  8. I also emailed in the fall to ask what the average GPA of students admitted to the program last year was and was told it was 3.42

  10. Has anyone heard back from CSULA or know when we should expect to hear by?
