When did you hear from Ottawa? And when did you submit your final application? Also, for anyone still waiting, my status on Carleton Central finally switched to "Recommended for Assessment."

7 days? That's brutal! I would call and explain the situation. There is a high chance that they won't have a decision for you, but it's definitely worth a shot. Does SFU have a deposit you have to pay right away? You can always back out once you hear from NPSIA, but it would suck if you had to pay a deposit fee beforehand!

Interesting. Past years suggest that Munk usually sends out their acceptances earlier than mid-March. I didn't apply to Munk but I wouldn't be surprised if the program coordinator just tells people mid-March so they don't constantly request status updates. I know a lot of departments do it. The political science department website for Queen's says that acceptances are sent out in April when they are really sent out in late February and early/mid March.

Hey! I unfortunately don't know too much about Carleton's MA, but my thesis advisor did her MA in Political Science at Carleton and she said she loved it. She is friends with a lot of the faculty and she said that the department shares a wide range of interests. Her area of interest is the Middle East (Islamist movements, democracy, etc.) and apparently she has worked with a few Carleton professors on publications. A lot of NPSIA professors also teach Political Science so I'm sure the faculty is amazing! Carleton is also a very nice school. Ottawa is a great city to be in (rent isn't too expensive, it's very political, it's very well kept, etc.). so I'm sure you would really like Carleton.
