  1. What does it mean if they're not certified to serve our state? I thought we only had to worry about ASHA accredidation.
  2. The schools that I have been accepted to have a thesis and non-thesis option. If one is not going to pursue a PhD, what advantage is there in choosing the thesis option over the non-thesis?
  3. I was actually accepted to ENMU. But I will say, that essay was definitely different. I don't remember exactly what I wrote--there were short term and long term plans. I was honest about my weaknesses and also made sure to put definite ways I was improving my weaknesses. I hope to meet some of you in the fall!
  4. I think they're sending acceptances in small waves. I sent you a pm giving more information about what little I know.
  5. I think the website says we will not hear anything until mid April.
  6. I actually have been writing a lot: articles, short stories. That's a good avenue for nervous energy.
  7. If you know where you are going, and have accepted, is there a reason you would want to keep your applications to the other schools? I know if I am accepted into my other schools, once I have officially accepted and paid my deposit, I will withdraw my applications from other schools. It might save someone the anxiety of being on a wait list is my thought. I also echo that talking to a current graduate school could provide some insight into the upcoming schedule. Congrats on your acceptance!
  8. I did not apply to Radford. But is this the school that allows you to do your last semester off-campus?
  9. Even though I won't hear anything for a couple more weeks; at least, I am constantly checking the result's page as well.
  10. Those are all good distractions. I play the piano, so that's something else I'm trying to do.
  11. So while we wait and check our mail, and then our email, twenty times a day what are some good distractions? What is everyone doing to kill time while we wait? I'm turning into a gym rat as a way to productively kill time. I also saw McFarland--being that I'm from California and all. If you want a good, feel -good movie, I'd definitely recommend it.
  12. I got the same email from Idaho State about the 500 applicants. Is that for distance too; I wonder? I had emailed to make sure they calculated my GPA correctly, (they did) and they said they will let people know around April, but that it is a long process. I have one wait list for UWEC, so far.
  13. "10 days til March!!!!!" This waiting around is torture!!! I think I'll be waiting into April. Good luck everyone!
  14. Thanks, I am almost resigned that I will need to retake the GRE. My scores are not horrible, but they definitely are not going to help me. I did not study as much for the verbal section, so hopefully that area can be improved upon since it seems to be one of the most important. I'll probably find a college student to help me prepare for the quant section, since math is more challenging for me. Ugh, good luck everyone. March is almost here!
  15. Koukla19, I applied to ODU as well. I don't think we will hear anything until March or so. Did you apply there last year? This is my first application season.
  16. So far I've only heard people getting letters that had an interview.
  17. Do you think graduate classes make a difference? I took a couple of SLP graduate classes as well and got A's in them. This is my first year applying as well. Although my AW score is good, I may retake the GRE. I've only taken it once and I'd like to get high 150s or 160s for the verbal.
  18. I'm in San Diego. I applied to CSUN, which is my only local school.
  19. I'll probably just do the same thing I do for other professional interviews. They have my stats. I'll talk about my relevent experience.
  20. I think like most have said, it's mainly GRE and GPA; however, I think that in an interview one's relevant work experience could definitely help.
  21. That's actually encouraging to know that some programs look beyond a GPA and GRE and see that experience is actually worth something. I have a decent GPA and GRE scores, but I shine in an actual work setting where I can put my knowledge to use.
