Hello all, I have been admitted into Computer Science PhD program at ASU but surprisingly got no funding for the first year. Should I try to contact with professors for a research assistantship position? If I should, how should I do it? Thanks in advance.

Profile: International / 1.5 year of research experience in Computer Vision Lab. of my undergraduate institution (Research Intern + Undergraduate Researcher) / 1 term teaching experience Publication: 1 IEEE national conference paper (Awarded Best Student Paper) GPA: 3.77 (CGPA) / 3.75 (CS GPA) IELTS: 6.5 GRE: 167Q / 150V / 3.0A LORs / SOP: 3 Strong (2 from the professors I worked with, 1 from head of department) / Strong LOR (I think) Schools: Brown (PhD), Princeton (PhD), ASU (PhD), UBC (MSc Thesis), McGill (MSc Thesis), UWO (MSc Thesis), Polimi (MSc), EPFL (MSc Thesis)

Hi, I need some advice on choosing schools to apply. I graduated from college last year and I have been working for a San Francisco-based start-up in my country since then. My profile is like: - CGPA: 3.77, Major: 3.75 (on 4.00 scale) - IELTS 7 - GRE (Q: 167, V: 150, AWA: 4) - 1.5 year of research experience as undergraduate research assistant and research intern at computer vision lab. of my college. - 1 national conference paper (IEEE / first author), awarded best student paper. - 1 term of teaching experience as programming lab instructor. - 1 year of volunteering experience as volunteer teacher. - 3 strong LORs. 2 from the professors I have done research with, 1 from head of department. - Strong SOP. I have applied for Princeton (PhD), UBC (MS), McGill (MS). I need to get RA/TA to pursue my degree. What schools would you suggest me to apply? Thanks.
